Error during attachment download for public users of our group

I did not submit an error report, as this seems to be an online-only error and not on the desktop app.

Summary:
When trying to download a document from the Zotero website in a publicly shared library, this error occurs. The error goes away when I log into my Zotero account.
Example:

1. Use link to access regional Bull Trout Library:
https://www.zotero.org/groups/1635495/yakima_basin_references/collections/3F8EA3CN

2. Choose document “2004 Yakima Basin Bull Trout Survey” (just an example) and go to attachments tab.

3. Hit “download” attachment

4. Error occurs with message: “Received error from Zotero server: Not found”

Following the same steps when I am logged in as an admin of the group, this error does not occur. The settings in place are to allow public access to the literature. This error was not occurring 2 weeks ago and now it is. Settings of the group have not been changed. Error occurs when using both Google Chrome and Firefox browsers (did not try any other browsers).

Does anyone know what is going on?
(I am a new Zotero user so I apologize if this forum message is not up to par)
  • The confusing error message is a recent bug, but there's no public file sharing in Zotero groups. Only members have access to group files.
