Any reference is stuck on [1] number

I face a problem : whatever be the reference I add, it keeps being [1] in the text.
What is that due to?

Looks like your citations might get flattened. Check this first:

If this happens within the same session (i.e. without closing your document in between), you could also just have auto-updating of your references disabled in the Document preferences of the Zotero word processor add-on.
