Show Zotero under "Show Applications" in Fedora

Under Fedora I usually start applications by pressing the Windows-Key then I can enter the first letters of an installed application and all the installed applications that fit to these letters are shown.

For Zotero I always have to use the command line after I followed the installation instructions for Linux: https://www.zotero.org/support/installation .

How can I get Fedora to be shown as an application under "show applications" in Fedora.

Right now I have extracted Zotero in my Downloads folder. Is there a more common location for applications?

You should follow instructions regarding the .desktop file on that page.

Thank you this worked well for Fedora. I don't have root access, so I've chosen a different folder than "/opt/zotero". Apart from that I could follow every step from the installation instruction: https://www.zotero.org/support/installation
