Selecting and highlighting inside a box annotation

Is there a way in which we can select text inside the box annotation? This is useful when we have lets say links inside them and we want to open them. Also, Is it possible to highlight text inside a box annotation? this would be useful for having more important text highlighted inside the annotation.
