I cannot add an image into a note

Please forgive me if this is a "Newbie problem" and help me out!

I am new in Zotero and I try to add images to a note.

WIN 11, Firefox 106.0.1

1)
I read in the documentation:
"You can embed images into Zotero notes by dragging them from your filesystem or, in some cases, by pasting them in."

When I try to add an image at zotero.org, draggint it into the note from the filesystem or pasting the copied image into it, it does not work, an error message occurs:
"Received error from Zotero Server: JSON
Error: Unexpected control character found"

I can add an image by dragging it into Zotero on my WIN 11 PC, but after synching, the image does not show in the note on the server

2)
When I add an image from my PC as attachment, it is uploaded, but not shown
I see the filename and an empty frame and a button to download that file either by clicking on it and seeing in a new browser tab or by right-click

I know that you can integrate images with MarkDown, but how to do this not so very exotic task in Zotero?

All Zotero documentation is about the actual Zotero app that you run on your computer, not the website. The Zotero app is where you can add images to notes.

The note editor in the web library is still the pre–Zotero 6 version and doesn't yet support images in notes.
  • Thank you for your answer. This is problematic for my studies, as I do not want to convert every image into a PDF to have it showing up in the web-library...

I think this feature is absolutely necessary...

I try to be patient to wait...
  • The new note editor, with support for embedded images, is now available in the web library.
