All items in a collection disappeared

I had about 400 citations stored in a collection. I was pulling some new sources off the web only to notice that every citation had simply disappeared from this collection. Not only is it gone from my computer, but they are not showing up in my web storage either. I have no idea what could have happened. Is there any way to recover these items?

Does the collection have subcollections? You may have just turned off View → Show Items from Subcollections.

If it’s not that, do the items still show in the library root? Start by making a backup copy of your Zotero data directory, since you may be able to restore from one of your last automatic backups.
