Option for manually adding a new item needs "Web Page" added to the drop-down menu

When you click the green button to add a "New Item" and the drop-down menu appears with all of the different item types, "Web Page" is not included in the menu.

You have to create the new item first by selecting any item type and then once it is created, click "Item Type" in the Item Pane in order to be able to select "Web Page."

Can you add "Web Page" to the main drop-down menu that appears when you click on "New Item"?

You can create a webpage Zotero record by clicking the connector icon. See:

Are you requesting the ability to hand enter a webpage that you have not visited?

Yes, most of our staff use that feature. However, some prefer to manually add the web page in the Zotero desktop app. When you click on the "New Item" button, a long list of item types shows up, however, "Web Page" is not an option and it would be nice to see it in that list.

All this said, as I recall it, we (including dstillman) had in the past arrived at the conclusion that the current status caused too much confusion and that there are some users who legitimately want to create web pages manually so that using a warning (with don't show again option) or so would be a better way to enforce optimal behavior.
I still think this is the case -- this issue just comes up too often: the current behavior can't be ideal.
