Upgrade StorageZotero add-on on Word 2016 for Mac not working

I have a Mac with Mojave 10.14.6 and Word 2016 for Mac (16.16.27). I recently got this computer from work and had not tried using Word until now. But the other when I decided to start using it, the Zotero add-on keeps not working. I can see it fine in Zord, but any time I try to use it (by clicking on any of the buttons), it tells me there is a "Word Integration Error." and that "Zotero experienced an error updating your document.". I looked at the troubleshooting pages and checked the discussions on this forum to see if anyone had the same issues, but nothing has worked so far.
I have restarted both Zotero and Word (and the computer itself). I have disabled and enabled again the add-on. I am saving the file on OneDrive and while it didn't have a space, it had a -, so I took it away because trying things (although the name of the OneDrive folder has a space in it so the address of the file has spaces, but I cannot change it as it breaks the connection to OneDrive if I do). Oh and Track Change isn't enabled.
I am unsure if there is something extremely obvious I missed, especially as I am a new-ish user of Mac (but got given a Mac so I have to make do).

I am confused because I am pretty sure I reinstalled it only a few weeks ago when I got the computer again so it should be a later version.
That being said, I don't think it has ever auto-updated either (for that matter neither on this one or on my personal Windows computer). I am not sure why as the Config settings tell me I should be getting them.
Anyway, I'll just need to make sure to manually update it regularly if I can't find the reason why it's not auto-updating.
