Physorg not saving date of aritcles?

Hello,

I'm having trouble with the famous website for science news (https://phys.org/)

When I save the metadata, I don't get the date saved. I have to add it manually every time. This website is very popular in the science community and this step is a hassle. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong.

Any help please?

  • We always need a full example URL.
  • Here are two examples from that link. It doesn't really matter, I couldn't get any article to date.

    https://phys.org/news/2022-09-hormone-revealed-heart-properties.html

    https://techxplore.com/news/2022-10-terminator-musk-humanoid-robot.html

I tried to save embedded metadata or to save with screenshot. Neither worked.

    Thanks.

  • Hey sorry for sounding demanding but just a follow up on this website (and including the links posted above)

This website always provides the option to download the PDF (top right corner). But in Zotero if you right click on "Find available PDF" it fails to download...

  • Currently there's no translator for that site, so we're just using the embedded metadata, which doesn't include the date. It looks like we could support additional metadata fairly easily, so I've created a ticket for that, but no guarantees about when it will happen.
  • (Also you're the first to request support for this site in 15+ years, so you shouldn't necessarily expect this anytime soon.)
  • That's OK. I am pleasantly surprised I got a reply at all let alone a quick one and creating a ticket as well. Thank you very much. I'm new to Zotero and I keep on being impressed.

Regarding Physorg, it has been around for 18 years now and according to this website, it's ranked 6th overall for science news.

It had a lot of traffic too comparable to others:

I am surprised I'm the first in 15+ years.

If it's not too much trouble, please request the ability to download PDFs by right clicking the reference.

On my side, I will contact Physorg and see if I can get them to help out as well as I feel like this will be beneficial to many people.
