.doc format should be indexed by zotero

As a former Evernote user, I'm just getting familiar with zotero, which is an amazing tool. But I'm missing this one possibility: When adding a .doc file this should be indexed. Right now, I'd move to my OpenOffice instance and export an html file, opening that one with Firefox and adding the whole thing as a web item. But this feels like merely being a workaround, not a smart "integration of anything" ...

Any plans on that?

Beyond this request, it's a great tool, thanks to everyone involved.

Is it true that when files .zotero-ft-info and .zotero-ft-cache would be created manually, Zotero would read them and search them? Thus, Zotero would have those files indexed?
