Zotero not working properly

This morning I found that I couldn't use Zotero to import citations via chrome connector.

I tried to follow these instructions https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/connector_zotero_unavailable:

0. Restart browser, computer, Zotero - nope.
1. Other browser (edge) - nope.
2. Disabling all virus protection - nope.
3. Loading http://127.0.0.1:23119/connector/ping in my browser - "Zotero is running"
4. Allow this extension to read and change all your data on websites you visit: "On all sites"
5. Debug log from Zotero Desktop: HTTP server listening on 127.0.0.1:23119
6. Reinstalling extension in multiple browsers.
7. Zotero Status from extension settings:
Zotero is currently unavailable. If Zotero is open, see the troubleshooting page.
8. After Save to Zotero.org authorization:
An error occurred while saving this item. See Troubleshooting Translator Issues for more information.

I am running Windows 11 Pro 10.0.22631 Build 22631,
Chrome Version 124.0.6367.119 (Official Build) (64-bit),
Zotero 6.0.36

My translator is ACS Publications, the link is https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/jp512221x

Your debug output has been submitted.
The Debug ID is D1035115859. I also saved it to a file.

I think the problem is with my Zotero app. Zotero Format Metadata 0.4.4 from northword https://github.com/northword/zotero-format-metadata#readme is also not working
  • If you see "Zotero is running" when loading the URL, it doesn't have anything to do with the app.

You don't mention having disabled all browser extensions. You'll need to do that. You have an extension installed that's very likely to be interfering.
  • I identified the problem. I was simultaneously running another instance of Zotero app on my home computer and it was interfering with the proper functionality of the app (probably via third party plug-ins). While I disabled all the plug-ins on my work computer, I didn't disable them on my home computer.

    Everything is running smoothly now!
