Hello, as soon as I open Zotero I suddenly get the error below, how should I fix it, thanks a lot!
Error opening input stream (invalid filename?): jar:file:///C:/Users/%E8%81%94%E6%83%B3/AppData/Roaming/Zotero/Zotero/Profiles/oweo0wok.default/extensions/Knowledge4Zotero@windingwind.com.xpi!/bootstrap.js
  • @shmedu: This looks like a problem with the Better Notes plugin. Try disabling your plugins to see if the error still appears.
If you confirm that the problem only appears with the plugin, you can go to the GitHub page of the plugin to report the problem.
  • When I start Zotero, I encounter the same error message.
"Error opening input stream (invalid filename?): jar:file:///C:/Users/zhanghd/AppData/Roaming/Zotero/Zotero/Profiles/f4aoo06c.zotero7/extensions/greenfrog@redleafnew.me.xpi!/bootstrap.js"
The popup window only has two buttons, 'Check for Updates' or 'Exit.' If I click on 'Check for Updates,' I am forced to exit because there are no updates. Throughout the entire process, I cannot interact with any other options, including the menu bar.
    What should I do? Thanks.
  • @wulidede: Hold down Shift at Startup to start in Troubleshooting Mode with all plugins disabled, and then remove the one referenced in the error message.
  • Your plugin file is somehow broken/missing, possibly caused by cloud storage services or some plugins (e.g. https://github.com/syt2/zotero-addons/issues/16). Please go to the profile directory (https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/profile_directory) > extensions (for you it's C:/Users/%E8%81%94%E6%83%B3/AppData/Roaming/Zotero/Zotero/Profiles/oweo0wok.default/extensions) and replace the xpi file which is shown in the error message (for you it's Better Notes plugin) with the correct one.
