Unexplained storage jump following 2GB data upgrade

Hi folks, my Zotero was showing almost full capacity at 299MB today. So I decided to opt for the $20 upgrade to get the 2GB of storage (just to be safe).
However, almost instantly an extra 200MB of storage was inexplicably taken up. Having just added 3 or 4 references it's now jumped to 588MB, effectively doubling my storage usage for no apparent reason.
Given I've been using Zotero for about 2 years with the 300MB limit, this vast amount of storage (with no apparent rationale) is a bit concerning. Thanks, Karl
  • This would generally just be because you have been syncing for a while after you hit your storage limit. If you don't notice the sync error, your metadata will all continue to sync, but no new files will be uploaded until there is space available. Once you purchased a subscription and new space was available, all the files that had not been uploaded were sent at that point to catch up.

    @korl: More detailed explanation here:

    (That's about trying to delete files, but the explanation is the same.)
