Bibliographic data detected but I get site translator errors

I have Zotero Standalone 3.02b.1, the Safari web connector, and OSX 10.6.8.

When I go to this site <http://www.iep.utm.edu/>; Zotero detects bibliographic data. When I attempt to save it, however, I get an error and am offered a link to the "known translator issues" page. I have no idea what translator is involved, and would not know how to solve the problem if I did.

Is there a solution to this problem for a technologically naive user like me?

Thanks,

Eric Weir
  • See 6 and 10 here
    http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues
(linked to from the known translator page)
    - the site works for me on FF, so this might be a Safari or Standalone specific issue, an error report (as specified under 10) would be helpful.
Also, do you have the same problem for individual entries in the encyclopedia?
  • Thanks, Adam. I checked that page before posting, but obviously not carefully enough.

Yes, I have the problem with individual entries. I tried a few before posting.. The one with which I first experienced the problem is <http://www.iep.utm.edu/explanat/>.

And the error report ID is: 10831183.
  • I tried resetting the translators. After doing that and restarting Safari, I still have the problem.
  • Simon - could you check the error report? This may be a more general connector issue.
  • Just tried saving from the site and page with which I first experienced the problem. Again got the "an error occurred while saving this item" message.

Not sure it's what were suggesting, but the error reported in Zotero preferences was: [JavaScript Error: "'undefined' is not an object"]
