VTLS - Could not save error

For some reason, I'm unable to save items from our library catalogue (vtls) - Zotero is recognizing items and lists when I do catalogue searches (the save icon shows up in the location bar) but I'm getting the "Could not save item" error message when I try to save ... I've gone through most of the steps in the translator issues troubleshooting list but still no luck. An example would be trying to save resulting items in a search for information literacy in our "Quick Catalogue Search" box at http://library.vcc.ca . Any help with this would be appreciated. I will be demonstrating Zotero soon to library colleagues and other faculty and it would be great if I could figure out what is going on.

At least one other VTLS-based catalogue doesn't work properly with the existing VTLS translator - National Library of Wales http://cat.llgc.org.uk . (This was previously posted in another thread.)

With the English-language version of the NLW catalogue, the VTLS translator detects lists of items after catalogue searches but cannot save, exactly as described for the VCC catalogue in the previous post. Additionally, with NLW (unlike with VCC), the translator cannot detect individual records at all.

(The Welsh-language version of the NLW catalogue cannot be scraped at all, presumably because the VTLS translator is based on English-language tags - see here.)
