That should work -- you're sure you're looking in the right place for the item? Can you test in a minimal document, with, say, on 1-2 actual citations/footnotes, see if you get it to work there?

Your comment is correct if we want to use standard csl styles. Because adding custom field don't change anything. but as i said, i edit a csl standard file and use my custom varieble in it and test it
