The bottleneck is the Word for Mac API, not Zotero for Mac, so it depends on Microsoft updates. Zotero for Mac is as fast or faster than the Windows version on Google docs and LibreOffice.

That would be a problem with LibreOffice or your system's JDK, not Zotero. Try a different LO version and/or a different JDK.

@dwoodruff: If this is an Apple Silicon Mac, make sure you're running the x64 versions of both LibreOffice and the JDK.
