Proquest just needs a small fix - if you search in all databases it works, it just doesn't recognize the abicomplete URL - we'll need to think how to best to that, try this:

ProQuest's ABI/INFORM Complete is not listed as a know issue, but it doesn't sense at all (no icons), in either list view or item view. URL is http://search.proquest.com/abicomplete/index?accountid=10

I'm getting a translator error with ProQuest. The URL I'm using is proquest.com/docview/36645624/13214B57A5E66F3947F/2?accountid=13828> but I repeatedly get the error on other items.

Similar situation as the Proquest changes, a couple of years back. The workaround was: Generate a citation, set it up to download to endnote, and zotero picks it up.

For the Proquest translator to work, the proxy will need to be set up correctly in Zotero. I don't think reinstalling Zotero will help you here.

zotero doesn't have nyarc listed as a proxy. i tried adding the URL for the proquest connection but it says the scheme syntax is wrong.

Do you have your NYArc proxy set up in the Zotero preferences? Does Zotero note that you're being proxied when you access ProQuest?

Go to http://github.com/ajlyon/translators/raw/master/ProQuest.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data).

    by adamsmith · August 15, 2011
I'm on this - the correct category in Zotero is thesis and you should put "PhD diss." in the type field - that will still give you the location and it won't put the proquest catalogue at the end, but

No problems with 304408427 here, and a translator shouldn't be able to cause a "disk I/O error" anyway. I'd recommend both checking your disk for errors and checking your Zotero database integrity in…
