  1. ZotFile - Advanced PDF management for Zotero

    by bwiernik · August 9, 2013
I see. From a file management perspective, though, I think it is less than ideal. For my use, the purpose of the pdf filename is to unambiguously name the file, so that it can be stored on a web serve

@mel47: zotfile will not be integrating this change; I've created a separate extension that can safely be installed alongside (or without) zotfile, available at https://github.com/friflaj/zotero-link-

citizen_x, glad that you like zotfile. Unfortunately, what you are trying to do is not possible. Zotero items can be in multiple collections so that zotfile can not send items automatically to folders

First of all - Zotfile is a priceless addon and a lifesaver. Kudos to the dev.

@citizen_x: Can't speak for the ZotFile dev but you should request this feature here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/5301/1/zotfile-zotero-plugin-to-rename-move-and-attach-pdfs-send-them-to-ipad

You should check out Zotfile. It does exactly what you need with its "send to tablet" feature.
  7. Automatically "rename files from parent metadata"

    by dstillman · August 6, 2013
If you use linked files, you can store them however you want, and yes, ZotFile can help with that. For files within Zotero, you can use a smart folder in your OS to view a flat list of files within th

Or can I achieve this somehow using ZotFile? (In that case please tell me as I didn't understand this from reading about Zotfile).
  9. Attachment lost when dragging item from My Library to Group Library

    by schymans · August 6, 2013
Thanks, Dan, and sorry for the late reply. I just installed Zotero 4.0.9 and the problem is still there. I drag&dropped a new reference containing a snapshot and a pdf, but only the snapshot appears i

@mel47: I created a derivative from Zotfile at https://github.com/friflaj/zotfile . If you install that *instead of, not alongside* zotfile, and enable the checkbox in "advanced settings" of zotfile,

    by adamsmith · July 31, 2013
well, you can set a folder on the Kindle as the ZotFile Tablet folder - you just have to have it connected when you push the files to the tablet.

Are there any plans to make Zotfile work with Kindles (the e-readers, not the Fire tablets)?
  13. Zotero <> Kindle workflow?

    by svidd · July 31, 2013
As far as I understand, Zotfile does not work with Kindle e-readers (only Fire tablets). Does anybody know of something similar for Kindle?
  14. Import with attachment location

    by mel47 · July 30, 2013
Yes, Zotfile can do the change from storage to attachments in batch. But ideally, it will be better if we can directly import as a "attachment.linkMode" than "item.attachments" (from what I understood

ZotFile can convert attachments stored in Zotero to linked attachments in a target folder. It can do so in batch.

What do you mean with absolute links? And how did you do it with zotfile? I might be able to automate zotfile through the JS API.
  17. Import with attachment location

    by mel47 · July 30, 2013
By the way, the only solution, I found (which was very time-consuming), is to import with absolute links and convert them to attach links with Zotfile. Works fine but not if you have many folders, as

    1) Copy and paste 'zotero://' links. I crete them with zotfile now and I think it's a very useful feature. But they are very limited. The user can't copy and paste them in zotero notes. 'http://' link
