Okay. Thx.

Where Do I Put the Period? In the following citation: { For a carefully restored critical edition of the Memoirs, which contains a complete list of primary source materials for Finney research (pp. 671-678), see | Finney, et al., (1989) | | Onl…

@adamsmith. Back up there a ways I just noticed that you wondered how, in Scrivener, you compile to odt with footnotes. You can't. You must compile to rtf, convert the rtf to odt, then run rtf/odf scan. Apparently there are all kinds of rtf converte…

k, thx!

RTF/ODF Scan Chokes on Tables. FYI, I was trying unsuccessfully to revert to markers until I figured out that RTF/ODF Scan did not like one page containing a landscape table. Ran fine after deleting table. The error message showed up in re…

Quotes. Well we're only talking about the prefix field here. Sometimes you need to be able to use single quotes within doubles, so I don't know if it's a good idea to automate anything with respect to single quotes in prefix/suffix fields. Don't the…

Thanks on the quotes.

@adamsmith, here's the "defective" form: { "It was in a debate with a Universalist . . . that Finney first stated his understanding of the atonement," for instance. | Charles E. Hambrick-Stowe, Charles G. Finney and the Spirit of American Evang…

Quotations in Prefix Field. I want to put the following in the prefix field: "It was in a debate with a Universalist . . . that Finney first stated his understanding of the atonement," for instance. but when I do, I get a corruption error …

Pinpoint Markers. Do the pinpoint markers still work in RTF/ODF Scan? I must be terribly confused or behind or something. I thought that I could drag a note containing certain markers and see these parsed out in the target application. I was getting…

Oops. I posted over there before becoming aware of your response. Hopefully Joscha will not be too put out.

EXTRACT POP-UPS AS WELL AS STICKY NOTES FROM PDFXCHANGE DOCS? I want Zotfile to extract "pop-ups" as well as sticky notes from PDFXChange modified PDFs. Currently sticky notes do not extract. Thx for consideration!
-
Duh. I discovered that within PDFXChange I can extract both sticky notes and pop-ups with Comments, Summarize. It says it is a pro feature only, but it works in the free version without penalty--as far as I can tell--for exporting to RTF. The item p…

I got it to work on a doc with only one "sticky-note," But if I add a "pop-up note" (as are almost all mine), it extracts only the sticky note.

I tried it on another file and it has hung halfway through the conversion notification window. I am using MLZ.

I'm opening the PDF by right-clicking on the pdf and "Open in External Viewer." I'm not using "view file" because that just dumps a copy of the pdf in the downloads folder, since I disabled pdf.js. The pdf contains tons of notes, and did before inst…

Simple enough. Followed, but after information box flashes indicating extraction in process, where did it/they go? Nothing new shows up beneath the item in Zotero under which the the PDF is linked.

Thaks adamsmith. Do you know if anyone has written up a simple Zotfile instruction purely for scarfing up annotations? That's the only feature in which I am interested presently. I realize that good reasons exist for its other well-recvd functions--…

Ah. I missed that memo! This old thread seemed to have the appropriate title, though. Indeed, Frank has already done so much to provide a functionality that's absolutely essential for so many of us. And your response now helps me to plan through nex…

Any news on MLZ Standalone? Not trying to be pushy—just curious! Thx! M

Thanks adamsmith. I just hopped out of that thread and into an exploration of MLZ Zotero a moment or two ago. I'm extremely impressed and excited at the work Mr. Bennett is doing! m.

I'm afraid, brunus, that I have not played with RTF for quite some time. Still waiting for improvements, and also not in the critical documenting/writing stage of the dissertation yet. So, unfortunately, I can't recall enough to help with your quest…

Okay. "We" could use a programmer who is interested in modifying the .js file to pull the record based first on the contents of the "Extra" field, if present. Else function normally. But I haven't the slightest idea how to go about locating (and ass…

From the perspective of an end-user--writing a 300 page dissertation--"simply" adding the capability of a unique (even user supplied) identifier would seem to be all that's necessary. Why not modify RTF Scan to recognize the "Extra" field for the ti…

Just checking. I can't see that any progress has been made on this particular issue, at least under Linux, in the past two years. Anything pending? Thx, LMB

That's how CMS is supposed to handle magazines. If you want the other fields, enter the item as a journal article. mbruffey

fbennett, bib operating properly after following your rec. above. Thx, Mark

We are getting attention and improvements. That's good! I, for one, am willing to work around the minor issues.

Thanks for all that work. I threw a bunch of stuff at a single note. Looks very good, tho' I was not able to achieve perfect punctuation when adding text before/after entries--could be my fault (see after "analysis" line 2-3 [want a comma], and line…

nturcan, if you are still around, perhaps you have already figured this out, but you could enter something like {Turcan, Ex2008, 44-45} and {Turcan, Re2008, xx} to help in the disambiguation process. Zotero will kick these out nicely and separately …
