Can you open the Zotero pane? You can try either selecting the Zotero item in the Firefox Tools menu, or use the short cut (ctrl+alt+z on Windows).

Is your status bar visible? http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/no_status_bar_icon

The following fix works for me. Change var downloadFileName = text.match(/name=\"downloadFileName\" value=\"([A-Za-z0-9_]+)\"/)[1];intovar downloadFileName = text.match(/name=\"downloadFileName\" value=\"([A-Za-z0-9_\.]+)\"/)[1];

I changed the APA style to sort by year of issue (both for citations clusters and the bibliography). The new version can be installed via the Zotero Style Repository (look under "Additional Styles") or directly via this link.

Does this help? http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/5672/cant-install-ms-word-integration-mac/?Focus=24646#Comment_24646

Apparently implementing auto-updating is not that straightforward: https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/792

Google Books has received an update, so I kinda expected something to break. So if you find any other problems with the translator, please post it to this thread. I did come up with a fix. Changing: for(var i in items) { items[i] = items[i].replac…

I tested the new RTF-scan feature with a text file, but got some unexpected results. The string "According to Bakker et al. (2001) yeast is sweet." got turned into "According to Bakker et al. 1 yeast is sweet." when I used the Nature style. Clearly …

Hmmm, a thoughtful suggestion. +1 :P Edit: I fixed this in the wiki.

Your issue is related to this one. As discussed in that thread, citations are formatted by a CSL processor. The Zotero CSL processor is currently being rewritten from scratch, should handle this case correctly, and (hopefully) make it into Zotero in…

I presume you haven't used Zotero 2.0 Beta and its syncing feature? If so, you might still be able to get your data from the Zotero servers. If that's not the case, there isn't an easy way to get your data back. The OpenOffice documents store only t…

Those instructions only work for Zotero 2.0 Beta, as there the translators are stored in separate files. For Zotero 1.0.x, you could install Scaffold (see also the Scaffold tutorial). Open Scaffold, load the Google Patents translator, click the code…

I sent a fix two weeks ago to the Zotero team (Matt), but it hasn't made it to the SVN yet: "The Google Patents translators seems broken. The fix however is simple. Changing newItem.title = doc.evaluate('//h2[@class="title"]', doc, nsResolver, XPat…

For 1): I think it would be an improvement if all the instructions at the bottom of the Style Repository page would be moved to the wiki (e.g. at http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/creating_citation_styles#the_zotero_style_repository). The current te…

Maybe "Item Type" is what you're looking for?

I think APA (and quite a few other styles) should indeed sort by year of issue instead of by date of issue. This page describes APA 5th edition: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/05/ "If you have more than one article by the same autho…

You should use 1.0b4: http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_installation#word_processor_plugins_for_zotero_2.0_beta You could try the manual installation instructions as well to make sure you delete the old version.
-
Or open the PDFs, copy some text (title, authors) to a search engine like Google Scholar, and save the bibliographic data when you've found the reference online.
-
Did you try the experimental Word 2004 plugin for Zotero 2.0b5 (you can find it via the link provided by noksagt above)? That might be your best bet.

I'm not sure if CSL (the underlying style language Zotero uses) has a variable that would be appropriate to map the version to.The variables list of CSL seems to contain a good candidate: http://xbiblio.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/xbiblio/csl/schema/…

Rintze knows more about this end of things, and will no doubt check before it goes live. That's a bit too much credit in this case. Note that changes in the SVN are automatically incorporated into the style repository.

I think the empty word document is the plugin, and the folder alias points to the folder to which the plugin has to be moved. You probably just have to drag the word document onto the folder alias.
-
The updated style is now available from the style repository as well. Strangely enough I couldn't reproduce the double space issue with Zotero 1.0.10, and the preview in the style repository also seemed correct.

How about providing a drop-down menu next to the entry text-field to select the type of identifier? By default it could be set to auto-detect. Non-default options could include the main identifiers, including "PMCID" (which cannot be distinguished f…
