I know that the number of dependent styles is not a good measure for style popularity, but here is a list of independent styles with their number of dependents: https://gist.github.com/1100122 Maybe we could add an Elsevier style or two? And perha…

I would try the ProCite forum if you want the makers to update the output style: http://community.thomsonreuters.com/ts/?category.id=procite

ANY ADVICE? Don't use all-capitals. It annoys people. As for your problem, can you provide a URL of a page that won't save?

Seeing as this proposal seems to be quite popular, some additional thoughts: - csledit.xul (chrome://zotero/content/tools/csledit.xul) already shows how the locator selection dropdown could work. When used in the right-hand column, the locator …

How about extending the note metadata (which already has a "Related" and "Tags" field) with a "Locator" field (offering a dropdown menu for the label and a freeform field for the locator value)? That way you can keep track of parts of works you want…

It's not in the upgrade notes for CSL 1.0, but yes, item type fallback was removed for CSL 1.0.

I guess for CSL, we can introduce a citation-specific option to active a cite position reset on a new page (see http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html#choose). I'm not sure how much flexibility is required here (i.e., whether the "ib…

ajlyon, your Czech puns are the main reason I visit this forum. :)

Sorry, had to reverse that commit, as it messed up the placement of the year-suffix for full dates. In my commit, the year-suffix is suppressed as it's explicitly defined for the no-date case. I could add a cs:text element calling "year-suffix"…

That shouldn't be a problem, right? The spec states: "... if a date variable is called by the variable attribute, the complete date is returned. In contrast, macros return only those date-parts that would otherwise be rendered ..." As the …

I guess I'm to blame for this one: https://www.zotero.org/trac/changeset/4659/csl/apa.csl http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/7427/?Focus=33198#Comment_33198 That change solved problems with sorting for bibliographic entries rendering on…

Even though there may be people here qualified to give you an answer to that question (ahem), this is not the place to ask it.

But you can achieve that already with initialize-with="", right?

I just checked the New Zealand Law Style Guide, and it seems to be fine with initials-only names: http://www.lawfoundation.org.nz/style-guide/nzlsg_18.html#6.1.2

I really would like to keep having "strip-periods" do what its name suggests: strip any periods without touching whitespace. I think the cleanest solution is what has been proposed above: introduce separate control over whether initialization o…

See also http://xbiblio-devel.2463403.n2.nabble.com/EasyBib-amp-CSL-attribution-td5441396.html I hope the EasyBib people haven't emailed all the style authors. I can imagine that would be a bit annoying.

I thought about offering google.com as a counterexample myself, but decided against it. It's a search engine, and result filtering is central to its use. This is not (so much) the case for iTunes or Zotero. edit @mark: my point is that it's muc…

As a general rule, any style troubleshooting should start with making sure the style validates. Even errors in unrelated parts of the style can confuse the CSL processor.

There is no reason the list of categories couldn't be revised/expanded, but I'd like a more comprehensive overhaul instead of dealing with individual field requests. Perhaps we should steal Mendeley's disciplines list? :) http://www.mendel…
