I always use http://r12a.github.io/apps/subtags/ to figure out the right locale codes, by the way.

Dan, Frank, here is the error debug output: https://gist.github.com/rmzelle/a47ceb6dfcf8151296cb615254631a3a (it's the "TypeError: m is null") This is with Zotero for Firefox 4.0.29.7 and the style https://gist.github.com/rmzelle/123c680d3fa9ffbf…

@adamsmith, Dan, @fbennett, any idea what change could have caused this? Is it citeproc-js or something in Zotero? I couldn't find anything looking through the changelogs and recent commits. If it turns out that the error comes from a missing "self…

Do you also get the error if you use the Zotero Style Editor? (visit "chrome://zotero/content/tools/csledit.xul" in the address bar; see https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/reference_test_pane for more documentation) I haven't been a…

Yeah, adding the fixes the error Error parsing style: TypeError: Zotero.Utilities.xpathText(...) is null in the "ERSAM-Histoire et sources anciennes" style. (although the other errors highlighted by LiborA should be fixed as well)

Beat by @adamsmith, who I was going to defer to anyway, since he puts in most of the work of keeping the current variants synchronized. My apologies, but I hope you understand our position on this.
-
Can you give a list of the seven styles for which you'd like to have these variants? While I appreciate that some people might like these annotated versions, there are significant costs to adding style variants: it adds to the burden of keeping th…

Can you describe in a bit more detail what kind of styles you'd like to contribute? E.g. we're always happy to accept styles for journals we don't yet cover, but we're usually hesitant to accept styles that are just small variations of a single styl…

Have you read https://www.zotero.org/support/sync ? Zotero's own cloud storage has been a paid solution since its introduction in 2009 (https://www.zotero.org/blog/synchronize-pdfs-and-collaborate-with-zotero/), with currently a free allotment of 3…

Maybe the first release is all about laying the foundation for enabling faster and better updates in future. That's a large part of it, yes: "Overall, the changes in 5.0 should provide for a much smoother user experience and lay the groundwork for…

Sure. Can't really test for this in the schema, though, unless we add another Schematron rule.
-
It looks like second-field-align="flush" is incompatible with the line (which makes kinda sense, since they're contradicting instructions). Removing the former fixes the error.
-
Dan, since this scenario pops up quite often on the forums, would it be a good idea to make failing syncs more noticeable? E.g. Time Machine has a notification that pops up when OS X hasn't been able to make a backup for more than x days. A similar …

Could it be easier now to include that functionality also over API? No, not really. All 4.0.27 added were UI selectors for the style locale, and some logic to show users full language names (e.g. "French" instead of "fr-FR"), and to disable the sele…

https://books.google.com/books?isbn=0810874326 says the majority of style guides reviewed use lowercase "op.". I can't think of any other occurrences in English for "op." other than "opus", so I'm fine with adding this as an exception. There are ex…

The American Society of Microbiology style is supposed to sort the bibliography alphabetically Is that really the case? Which journal instructions are you looking at? http://aem.asm.org/site/misc/journal-ita_org.xhtml#03 says "In the reference list,…

It's possible that we could get just connector functionality working under e10s and migrate people to XUL Standalone (using 45 ESR) Yeah, that's what I meant.

e10s support, which will take a lot of work ... But we're certainly aware of it and will support it before it's generally available. Dan, I assume you've already considered sunsetting Zotero for Firefox a little earlier than planned*, so you can avo…

Assuming Edge will soon start to support web extensions in its stable builds, is there hope for an Edge Zotero extension? (see http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2016/03/edge-browser-now-has-extensions-in-the-latest-windows-10-preview/)

Unless we would make it possible to hint at the locale of the quoted section, I guess the question boils down to what is more common: English titles with an English quoted section, or a non-English quoted section. My gut feeling is that the former i…

Citace now clearly mentions CSL and provides a link to citationstyles.org on their Citace PRO product page. Thanks @matejovo for letting us know! (they said they use citeproc-php as the CSL processor) @LiborA, they said their styles were only one w…

Thanks. I left a note on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10154177147175116&id=181700580115. Let's see if they get back to us. I did find one mention of CSL at http://www.citace.com/citace-pro ("Na vyžádání…

Is it legal use styles from CSL repository ... without referencing to CitationStyles.org? I wrote what I think are reasonable and CC BY-SA compatible license requirements in https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/blob/master/README.md#lic…

There haven't been any changes since 2009 Any year now!

It's easier to just have a single license for the entire repository, so for now I would like to stay with CC BY-SA 3.0. I'm not a lawyer, but https://creativecommons.org/compatiblelicenses/ and https://wiki.creativecommons.org/wiki/4.0_upgrade_guid…

For (3), you could try coding the ordinal suffix terms with unicode superscript characters, e.g. ᵗʰ ˢᵗ ⁿᵈ ʳᵈ ᵗʰ ᵗʰ ᵗʰ (see the Latin superscript minuscule characters at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicode_subscripts_…

e.g. in UK typography, parentheses within parentheses are generally preferred. The Dutch Language Union (Taalunie) does recommend the use of square brackets within round parentheses, FWIW: http://taaladvies.net/taal/advies/vraag/865

@LiborA, is a preceding delimiter grammatically wrong in Czech, or is this just a case of where the English and Czech versions of a style guide have slight (arbitrary) variations?
