If I select "Save page as..." in Firefox I now get proposed file names like ama.csl.xml, which probably isn't the aimed-for result.

On some platforms, I believe that you can drag-and-drop attachments from the middle zotero pane to your file system. Yes, but for larger collections of attachments the other option probably would be quite a bit quicker. When I would use drag and dr…

Exporting in the Zotero RDF format gives the option of also exporting attachments. I do think the export possibilities are lacking a bit though. Sometimes I wish to share just the attachments of some items (mainly PDF's) with colleagues. It would he…

What information is shown in your citation primarily depends on the style you have selected. Some styles will display URL information, while others will not. You can switch the current style in Word with the Set Doc Prefs-button, and, if none of the…

Thanks. I just uploaded the style to the repository. I only verified correct formatting of journal articles and chapters, as those were the only examples given in the (very concise) reference guide. http://www.zotero.org/styles/cell-calcium/dev/ins…

To my knowledge nobody has (it is also absent from the style repository: www.zotero.org/styles). The style info for this journal: http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/journaldescription.cws_home/623014/authorinstructions The layout differs a bit from …

Two examples found in the journal Applied and Environmental Microbiology: Skovhus, T. L. 2004. Occurrence and function of marine antifouling Pseudoalteromonas species. Ph.D. thesis. University of Aarhus, Aarhus, Denmark. McInnes, A. 2002. Bradyrhi…

In Firefox, select "Addons" in the Tools menu. This will show you the version of Zotero. The newest stable Zotero release is 1.0.7, while the Word plugin is currently at version 1.0b3. From what I've heard 1.0.8 is close to being released, as are th…

I am trying to implement some style-support for theses, so they are formatted like this: "O'Malley, D. R. 1998. Ph.D. thesis. University of California, Los Angeles." I noticed that the thesis-type is missing a "Place"-field (currently only a Unive…

You do see the Zotero pane pop up when you click on the zotero-icon in the right hand bottom corner of Firefox? Also note (no pun intended) that you only will see tabs in the rightmost column of the Zotero pane if you have selected an item in the mi…

Last... now I'm left with two new styles of the same name. I see them both when dumping the database with sqlite3 but I don't know what to do about it. Does Zotero provide a way to axe old styles? As far as I know, the easy ways are: a) in the 1.5 S…

I now have a related problem: this pluralize option doesn't seem to work for editor-labels, e.g.: still gives "eds" instead of "ed", although I was under the impression that the pluralize-option should work for all types of…

I guess you're right that variable-macros can yield more robust styles. I'm just not convinced that they are the best option for all types of styles. I can see the benefit for 'broad' styles like Chicago Manual of Style, which should accommodate a w…

Okay. Still, the info tab doesn't display "Publisher Place" but "Place", which makes it a bit unclear what kind of place is actually meant. Switching "Place" and "Publisher" around would help with that.

Thanks for the fixes. The list does continue however: in the sync preview, the link "http://aem.asm.org/cgi/content/abstract/74/9/2766" shows a "Save to Zotero (Embedded RDF)"-button, and using it gives an item which doesn't have full object details…

Another important one: importing RDF-data, exported in Zotero 1.0.7, into a copy of the sync preview changes editor roles into author roles (I expect that this bug extends to all contributor-types). This happens both in my local copy and in the styl…

Style for the Journal of Archaeological Science tossed. See the style repository.

Bruce, could you perhaps elaborate a bit more on how one should use variables in styles? APA still includes quite a few tests on item types, so I'm not sure what you mean.

Older NYTimes items, looked up via the search, don't give an icon in the address bar: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9B0DE2DD1E3BF933A15752C0A961948260&scp=8&sq=earthquake san francisco&st=cse http://query.nytimes.com/g…

A style for "The Journal of Immunology" has been added to the style repository (http://www.zotero.org/styles/).

Thanks. The preview box still showed "Style not found" though. Just now I found a small spacing error in the style, which I fixed. Having committed the fixed style the preview box now gives a correct preview, so all seems to be well.

Zotero: cite in style

Just a thought. Would it be a good solution to allow the Date-field to be toggled to a Status-field, similar to how authors and editors are handled now? The Date-field could still accept text (both parsable and nonparsable), while the Status field c…

A short feedback on the Water Science and Technology style. - There are 3 spaces between authors name and the publication year (under MS Word).Fixed. You will however have to reinstall the style from the style repository.
-
Left-clicking on the Author-label will allow you to choose between other types of contributors, including editors and translators.

I just changed the IEEE dev style to follow more closely the official IEEE style guide. You can get this style at http://www.zotero.org/styles or more directly by following this link: http://www.zotero.org/styles/ieee/dev/install
