This won't help you much but I pointed out that the same thing happens in openoffice some time ago. So its not a Word problem, the plugin doesn't like pasting. btw. why do you need to paste so badly? Obviously it would make life occasionally a bit…

I'd like something similar for grabbing pdf's off of web-sites. At the moment drag and drop imports them as snapshots. Could we have an option with cmd or ctrl to import them as files. Regards, Jon.

It's almost certainly not a problem (feature, not a bug, honest). Check whether or not there is another Smith you are citing. Have a look at this: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2040/citationstyles-without-firstnames-or-initials/#Item_4 …

I think this has been asked for before but the ability to move citations up and down would be really handy too. Regards, Jon.

Chicago-dev and Harvard1 both work now, thanks a lot. Harvard3 still seems to be having the problem. Regards, Jon
-
Can anybody else confirm this problem, or even better offer a solution. I've tried looking through the CSL but can't figure out why the Harvard2 style works and the other author-date styles don't. Regards, Jon.

try creator

Second this, that would be helpful. Regards, Jon.

You might want to check that the pdf that isn't indexing isn't protected in any way. I've a number of academic pdf's which are copy-protected DRMed (honestly, you'd think academics would know better) and this stops the indexing. Regards, Jon.

It's probably this: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2040/citationstyles-without-firstnames-or-initials/#Item_4 Regards, Jon.

I just installed the Harvard 2 dev-style and this works as I'd expect, so hopefully this should be an easy fix for the harvard 1 and the chicago styles.

Can I put in another vote for SAGE to be supported e.g. http://aas.sagepub.com/cgi/content/abstract/35/6/683 Regards, Jon.

I'm not sure if this is the same problem or not. When I drag a link to a pdf from, say a JSTOR page (its not limited to JSTOR, it seems to be standard behaviour), onto its reference in Zotero, it attaches the pdf as a snapshot not a pdf.I can then '…

Just updated Zotero and the OO extension and I've encountered a couple of problems. 1/ Mid(fnRemoveString, nTagStart, nEnd - nTagStart + 1, "") This one was fixable as per the instructions above, but I thought I'd better mention it as its odd th…

Seems to be fine now, thanks very much.

I updated my translators but still having trouble with this page http://www.informaworld.com/smpp/content~db=all~content=a778087308?words=i'd%20prefer%20not%20to*|bartleby*|excesses*|interpretation* Regards, Jon.

This doesn't seem to be working properly. http://www.informaworld.com/smpp/content?file.txt&ath_user=warmhsfam&ath_ttok=%3CR6JxHaOVIRBMH3viUg%3E The Zotero icon appears - but blue not grey and it saves the webpage, not the article …

It's almost certainly this: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2040/citationstyles-without-firstnames-or-initials/#Item_4 Regards, Jon. maybe we need an FAQ on this, as this must be the third time this has come up
-
On your first point: when I was writing my thesis I had separate sub-folders set up in Zotero for each chapter and another sub-folder for all the read but not cited references that I used when constructing the bibliography. So long as the relevant c…

It's probably this: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2040/citationstyles-without-firstnames-or-initials/#Item_4 Regards, Jon.

Check to see whether you're citing two different Smiths. It should only add an initial in order to differentiate between two different authors with the same surname. Regards, Jon.

I use Windows XP, so when you hit the Start button you get the two options of "Log Off" and "Turn off Computer" . Don't know for sure if this is necessary. I suspect the important thing is to make sure that you've deleted it from your C:\Document…

Hi Dan, I tried updating the styles, but I'm still getting the square box after a reference. OpenOffice 2.3.1 WinXP Regards, Jon.

Think mine might have been a red herring. I'd been having trouble getting the python bridge to work. But everything did install smoothly, finally and so far I haven't had any more communication problems. I'll let you know if it turns out to be flaky…

Hi Sean, I've got the same problem springchild has but with the openoffice plugin. I've emailed support@ So if you could email me the dev version of the plugin too, I'd be very greatful. Regards, Jon.

Quick tip on the search problem: type " (double quotation mark) before whatever you want to search for then press enter once you've typed the full search term.

I'm afraid this is a known bug. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/1446 https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/814 Regards, Jon.

What operating system are you using? I ask because it works fine on XP Zotero 1.01 - I've had Žižek in my database for over a year now with no problems. Regards, Jon.
