I'm glad…

[Well, when I opened a 1.0 translator in Komodo or Notepad, I saw translatorID, translatorType, label, creator, etc. on a single line. I thought these metadata were those of the "JSON block": I'm wrong, seemingly.]

@Rintze, fbennett: that's awesome! Thank you so much. I've tried Scaffold 2.0 and it works well with FF 3.6.3. @ajlyon:One issue, however, is that the JSON header is now written as a single line, making it a lot less legible. Could this be fixed? …

@adamsmith: Oops, I didn't read this message. @mronkko: I tried maComfort but it does not work. Will try another app...
-
@mronkko: I tried your plugin but I got this error message: "You need to specify a custom view command". (FF 3.6.3; Win 7 32-bit) Thank you.

I could not have done even a tiny fraction of it without Scaffold, but it is reasonably easy to keep a second firefox profile just for running Zotero 1.0 and Scaffold in it. With the help of the dom inspector and xpather, this seems to supply what I…

@fbennett: Will this patch solve the related problem I had recently? I thought it was caused by the MS Word plugin.
-
Thank you! I will have a look on that. I thought I read somewhere that it was not possible to *edit* the zotero db with an external program...
-
ATM you can use the "related" tab in order to link some items together. In the future, it will be possible with hierarchical item relationships. => http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/178/related-tab/ => http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/39…

OK... Thanks for the clarification.

I had read it... But this thread was not really about but . What's the problem with shift+enter (i.e. )? If I generate a report from a note and then have a look on the source code, I can see a rather non-orthodox " ". Is that the reason you think…
-
Shift-Enter will also create a linebreak rather than a new paragraph, but that's generally not a good solution. I didn't know that: it's very useful for me.... but why is it not a good solution?
-
That's great! Thanks for the job. I am eager to see its implementation in Zotero 2.1 (?)
-
IMHO The most logical way to deal with this would be the same approach as used for multiple 'people' (authors etc). I would definitely welcome this change. Sure. The solution above is just a workaround. (I know plenty of styles which require "Place…

I second this request.

I'm always entering places in the single field. Same for publishers (a related question, I think) And yet it doesn't seem right to enter "Princeton & Oxford" as a single string. Why? The only problem which might arise is that of citation output. …

Do any journals which have "sections" also have "issues"? Yes, they have. In each issue, there are different parts with their own pagination (continuous all along the year ). At the end of the year, you can bind each part... The people who designed …

It should be, though I haven't tested it. It works: my csl syntax was bad. Sorry.

I don't really need this "container-author" ATM, I was just surprised not to find it in 2.0. More generally, I can understand your point: you've expressed your opinion strongly and regularly in the past years... but it does not seem consistent with…
-
By 'next release' do you mean 2.0 final or 2.1? 2.0 Final. It seems that "Book Author" has not been mapped to CSL "container-author" in 2.0 Final. Right?
-
That should be added to the wiki in "Getting the Most Out of Zotero"!
-
Great! And since Zotero 2.0 final has been released today, I want to thank all the "zotero team" for this fantastic program!!Many thanks to csl devs too! Bravo et merci beaucoup ! Vive Zotero!
-
Since I do not convince anyone, I might add that "section" is an existing csl variable (used atm for bill). As it has been done for other types (with the last Zotero 2.0 RC), it would be great to add a section field to journalArticle. Any answer wo…
-
AFAIK, this is the right place but Csl devs seem to be reluctant to add new types. EDIT: See this too..

I re-open this thread since I realized that csl 0.8 has an "entry-dictionary" and an "entry-encyclopedia" type (and csl 1.0 keep them). Since these items exist in zotero and csl, I do not understand why there is no mapping for them? Thanks...
-
You're right: CSL ignores that field => that's why you might request it. On the customisation of item types: [I was trying to find an old thread on this question... until I discover this one. I think adamsmith's answer is still valid [and concur…

@anderslovlie: why don't you use the "system" field (in computer program)? Then it would be easier to argue for a "system" in csl. Have a look there.
