I've investigated this issue a little bit further... In French, there is a narrow no-break space before a colon ":" or a semicolon ";" or an exclamation mark "!" or a question mark "?" or a close-guillemet "»" and after an open-guillemet "«". [see m…

Search for "duplicate detection" on the forum. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/42/3/duplicate-detection/

Actually, there's little reason not to use a narrow non-breaking space here, if we know that it's correct. I doubt it's any harder than using a standard one. I agree it might be not harder. The problem is that a) we need to know the exact scope of…

Ok. (Although I'm not sure, that should not be extended to Canadian French but might be right for Belgian and Swiss French, etc.) [Just for fun... Actually typography is more complex: before a semicolon, an exclamation and a question marks, purists…

I think we can just do a find-and-replace on the rendered string output Great. Just to be sure that there are no misunderstandings: what has to be searched for? I mean: Find: "space:" and replace by: "nbsp:" Or: find ":" and replace by: "nbsp:" I'…

Does it apply to citations and footnote references also? Yes. It's a general orthographic rule.
-
In a French bibliography, there must be a non-breaking space before a semicolon ";" or a colon ":" or an exclamation mark "!" or a question mark "?". That might be different if you cite works from other languages. But AFAIK, in these languages there…

@Frank: yes, thanks for the reminder! I jumped the gun...

Which zotero version? 2.0? 2.1? (I would say zotero 2.0) p. or pp. is defined by the "locator" label () and is localized. If you're using a English Firefox and zotero, you should get "pp."

Read that: http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data Be careful and ask questions here if you're unsure of what you should do.
-
@frank: any thoughts on my previous post?

I also appreciate the transformation of the apostrophe, which now becomes always ’. In Zotero 2.0.9, according to the way we enter the information (typing in Zotero or copying from Word), we get either ' or ’, with different behaviour in sorting of …

About that:We meet a similar problem with punctuaton marks, for those which require a unbreakable space before them (: ; ? !). In Zotero panels, we just can type an ordinary space, but that sometimes leads to have : or ; or ? or ! at the beginning o…

@frank: Indeed. I thought I'd made a mistake since new quotes attribute was a bit hard to understand for me ( http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/15085/1/french-localization-csl-10/ ).
-
Unfortunately the way quotation marks have been adapted is not completely correct. My mistake. I'll look into that. EDIT: No, locales-fr-FR.xml is right. I think your csl code is wrong. Instead of that:

It would be nice to be able to do it automatically. Add in your style (.csl): It will display the content of the "extra" field. [ http://www.zotero.org/support/csl_simple_edits http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/csl_syntax_summary To edit Zotero 2…

You're right and that's why I wrote "with appropriate csl mapping": I didn't want to enter in this debate. And, even if it's not orthodox (conceptually), I'm perfectly happy with my use of "Series title" for issue title. "Issue title" can be the zot…
-
As I said above, I'm using "Series title" to specify the theme of a special issue (actually I'm also using "series title" for what I called "section", more details here). As adamsmith said, it's not an orthodox solution (because special issue is no…

Can we have a status update on its implementation? I'm not speaking for the devs but it should be added to Zotero 2.2 with other changes: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/15636/1/changes-to-fields-and-item-types-for-zotero-22/
-
2) I suggest you figure out a solution that is general; I don't want to add a "court-division" variable to CSL, and prefer to avoid adding anything if possible What about using "section" or "genre"? Far from being perfect though...
-
I'm not sure it is related but I'm using Series Title (csl: collection-title) for special issue. But "Series text" might be a better choice if it becomes "section" in a future version of zotero/csl (https://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/wiki/Zotero…

@Dan: Strange. I can confirm this bug for février, avril, mai, juin, juillet, août, décembre. Win7, FF 3.6.13, Z2.1rc2 (locale: fr-FR) @alinghi: Je confirme le problème.

AFAIK, Gnotero (http://www.cogsci.nl/software/gnotero) is available on Windows too (but it does not yet provide all the functionality of the Linux version ).
