I have tried this; it works. Report ID: 2098379193. Then I have tried to install the style, which is not installed by the program. Report ID: 1392640995.

Report ID: 292213717 I use Zotero plugin for Firefox Version 3.0.1. By "not passing the test of the Zotero Reference test Pane" I mean getting this message when I try to load the style (Essai Online) : "Error parsing style: TypeError: my…

OK - I have tried this : saving my custom styles in a sub-directory of directory "styles" in the Zotero directory, and have erased custom styles and others. After resetting the styles, everything was wiped out, including the sub-directory in th…

Also - I have tried with one, or more items - the "Essai" version does not work with word (the style is invalid says the zotero plug-in) and it does not pass the Zotero Reference Test Pane

Here it is: https://gist.github.com/2464911 I have just replaced "NEMO with "Essai "("Test" in French) in order to test it completely independently from the old style (which does not validate with http://validator.nu/ but works perfectly well w…

I have just checked the whole process again, including different selections : the style still does not validate in the Zotero reference test pane, and is not accepted by "Word". I have tried to validate it once again at http://validator.nu/ and…

Just a correction : it is the Zotero Reference Test Pane (chrome://zotero/content/tools/csledit.xul) that tells me there is an XML error: "Error parsing style: TypeError: myxml is undefined"
-
I have tried the style: it validates, but it does not work. Not that it does not look right, but the Zotero review pane says it is invalid, and when I try to install it from Word it says also that the style is invalid.

Thank you for answering. If I can provide a Style that worked with Zotero 3.01 but would not pass the test of validation, and stopped working with Zotero 3.0.3, would that be helpful ? You can also have a look at http://forums.zotero.org/discuss…

to gavin.j.macaulay: It seems that you are right, and that I have understood the opposite of what Dan Stillman seems to have meant. So this seems to be a misunderstanding, as I am relatively unaware of these differences. Thank you for the …

Dear Dan Stillman, I have spent weeks trying to modify the Chicago Author-Date style in order to create a style that would fulfill my (and other) needs : I used for that the Zotero reference test pane, making the changes step by step. I found t…

Thank you so much for this kind and helpful answer. My style now validates: it just does not work anymore. I think it is time to close this discussion.
-
Agreed: but I can not understand what are these errors : as I wrote in a former post, I am not a professional programmer; just somebody who tried to make things work. The style works with the former version of the Zotero plugin. What has changed …

The new location for the corrected style is https://gist.github.com/2360811

True - this was a later addition trying to correct the style and validating it. I have just checked: the first error in the style is now: Error: Bad value author editor translator contributor for attribute variable on element if from namespace http:…

I have tried: it does NOT validate. But it seems that each and every macro I use is not valid (anymore?)! ... the style is reachable at https://gist.github.com/2360506

Thank you for this answer, but I could not find the error in my style. I have just installed an older version of zotero, and everything works perfectly well : this seems to me to be a problem of compatibility (I mean with this that some styles …

IIs there a possibility to retrieve older versions of zotero plugin for Firefox?
-
Yes it is, as I tried another style and it works : the problem is now a compatibility problem, as zotero standalone 3.0b3.2 works, and the 3.0.3 plugin does not work. Any hints (I know nothing about java or php ; some html and CSL ...)?
-
You were right: I had to translate my heavily modified style into version 1.0, then add the three lines of code - and it works. Thank you so much: this was resolved in two hours, and I have been trying to do so for days!

a style adapted from the Chicago "Author-date" style

Thank you: it seems that there is a solution, but as I am very new to all of this, I could not understand if the "punctuation-in-quote" option should be assigned in the "locale" "en-us", or in the csl sheet. I have tried this: in my CSL sheet, belo…
