I've spent an interesting evening with MLZ in my own account, which reported a large number of seemingly erroneous conflicts upon sync. After those were cleared, it then uploaded a large number of files (including 2GB of data to a group I share with…

Yes, exactly. The name-part element will change the typeface of the names only, leaving the "al" in lowercase. Obviously, after setting that up, you would remove the small-caps from the name element (the parent), since it is no longer needed there,…
-
You wrote that you wanted capitals, but to get small-caps, replace:text-case="uppercase" with: font-variant="small-caps"
-
If you like, paste your style to http://gist.github.com, save it as a public gist, and post the url back here, and I'll take a look. (You really do want to be sure the style is valid CSL. Invalid code that works with my processor may break in a lat…

Something like this should do the trick: />
-
It won't be accepted to the repository with the first option, unfortunately. The processor handles text-case on the et-al element, but that's just an accident: it's not permitted in the formal CSL grammar. The second option is just as easy, though.
-
Chicago author-date style does not sort citations. They should always be rendered in entry order. If they are sorting that would be a problem, given the rules of the style.
-
Scratch the first suggestion I made above: text-case is not available on the et-al element.
-
You have two options, or should do. One would be to set the text-case attribute on the et-al term to "normal". I'm not sure if this would work out, but I think it's within the specification. http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html#…

For what it's worth, the bug is triggered by given names disambiguation. If you switch to a style that does not use disambiguate-add-givennames (such as a numeric style) the error will not be triggered. Not an ideal solution, but at least it avoids …

First, which version of MLZ did you try? (You can check the version in MLZ via gear menu -> About, or in Firefox at Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions). Second, could you post the text of a sample cite? The style will need to be adjusted to co…

If you follow the steps under the link provided by Dan above, you can submit the log report to Dan, automatically. The log will be identified by a Debug ID: it's not something you will find in the log itself.
-
Dan: Yes. The current database is bound to MLZ, unfortunately. The account can be synced to a separate Zotero install, though I'm not sure that would be helpful for debugging.
-
@duncdrum: As Dan says. Dan: I'll follow up on this. Is it known what type of file editing has triggered the error (adding/removing an attachment, changing attachment metadata, or editing the underlying file)?
-
The developers will need to take a look at the ID report, I don't have access. If in Firefox you check Tools -> Web Developer -> Error Console and select the Errors tab, do you see anything Zotero-related toward the bottom of the listing? An …

We don't want to set our expectations too high. :-) There is a chance that the recently fixed bug was the culprit though. Will look forward to news.
-
There have been some updates to the citation processor recently, relating to disambiguation. A bug did sneak into the code which could cause the fault you are seeing. It has been fixed, and the updated processor will appear in the next release of Zo…

No, there haven't been any new developments in this line. The advice in this thread still holds.
-
This is getting interesting. :-) It looks like CSL is between a rock and a hard place on capitalization of name particles, with requests it both directions. I guess the question now would be whether the choice to capitalize in citations is style-de…

The book title on Book Section items should not suggest abbreviations now. Existing abbrev suggestions that have made it into the plugin database may need attention though.
-
@roypeled: Thanks for reporting. I'll fix this.
-
The first two problems were turned up by the online validator, which you will probably want to use to check further changes. It is here: http://simonster.github.io/csl-validator.js/

Here are a few small things to fix. First, at line 35, find this: and change it to this: Second, at line 120, find this: and change it to this: The style will now be valid, but the the et-al settings need a little adjustment. At line 112 find…

There isn't a suitable item type for this in official Zotero yet. In MLZ, there is a Gazette type, which maps to "gazette" in an extended version of the extended CSL-m schema used by MLZ. The cite above may already render correctly in the MLZ Americ…
-
@maras: If it's the "UI" language selection, yes, that's not working at the moment. I'm getting ready for another client release, I'll try to get it fixed before that goes out.
-
@adamsmith: Aha, so there was reason behind this. I'll leave things as they are. @maras: Use the method suggested by adamsmith. Thanks for pointing out that this validates. I should restrict affixes on et-al in the extended schema to prevent confus…

@maras: Looks like a bug to me. I'll look into it. More soon.

(@milanm: The plugin may not install under Standalone; but you can use it with Zotero for Firefox.)
-
@milanm, For an immediate fix for (1), you can install this processor patch plugin. (It swaps in the latest version of the citation processor. You can remove it after the next Zotero release.)
-
Yep, that's also covered.
