Under the spec, affixes are not supposed to take on the formatting of the element to which they attach (or its children). http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html#affixes

We may be able to do better, and cover the example linked above, by reading ahead for merge partners. More news within the day (UTC+9:00), I hope. Please bear in mind that duplicate punctuation control, punctuation merger, and quote swapping are un…

It could be related to the fact that, at least in Chicago, we do use comma after question marks in citations, so maybe whatever Frank did to accommodate that was overly permissiveNo, the parameters are correct. It's just a bug. It's an issue with s…

Nice! Should work out well to have a separate option to control this, then.

Following up on some of the detail ... Since it's English only we can apply the same routine as for title casing and use language codes to disable the functionality.I've initially set it up to apply upper-casing unconditionally. Should it be restric…

It took me half a year to get there, but a plugin for this now exists. It doesn't add anything to the UI. When the plugin is installed and enabled, it will uppercase the first character of the subtitle (the portion of the title after the first colo…

A drag operation was instantiating the CSL processor (a relatively heavy operation) twice each time. I've adjusted the code a little to do it only once, which will speed things up a little. Zotero works the same way, but the lag is not so noticeabl…

@Blackhole1: It would be great if you could consider contributing to the CSL-m styles for MLZ. I've been thinking about the problem of legal style variants for some time. MLZ is used by Masters and PhD students in the faculty where I teach (Nagoya…

A processor update that adopts the heuristic above is now available. You can try it out by installing the processor patch plugin. The only effect of the plugin is to swap in the most recent version of the processor. The plugin can and should be remo…

Just in case: you are seeing this in the bibliography?
-
@dryphi: You could also try installing this plugin: http://citationstylist.org/tools/#abbreviation-filter If it doesn't work for you, you can just disable it.
-
Which style?
-
If there is no space in the "sentence" before ibid. (this uses the assumptin that any sentence has at least two words). This should work. I'll take a look this weekend. Please ping the thread if I don't post back by Monday.

You can change the citation style such that it will always outputs "aaO" and never "AaO".I don't think this is possible in any case, actually.
-
No, I checked it the other day, and it's enabled by default.
-
Hmm. But what if the period ends a sentence? We might be able to do it with a heuristic. What sort of rules might work there?
-
@adamsmith: Currently, the ABNT style adds the "note" variable to citations, presumably for this reason. Would you accept a patch that amends the style to use "publisher" and "publisher-place" instead when they are available? As it's currently set …
-
With {:publisher: Penguin} in the Extra field, the CSL style can read a variable "publisher" on the item. It's a valid CSL variable, so you should be able to add a call to it in the style, if it's not already there. The same is true for the publish…

I can certainly take a look. Is it possible to get data and a style that illustrate the problem in context?
-
The {:publisher: Oxford} workaround might be useful for the ABNT style.

There was one additional bug report against the revised plugin, from two other users. A fix has been applied there as well, and both report success. Unless I hear otherwise, I'll treat this bug report as fixed.

I did follow through and checked the MLZ sync conflict behavior at the weekend. It works normally. Before we look into sync itself, where is the database located? (If it's shared using Dropbox or something similar, that would be important.)
-
Interesting. This may require a tweak in the processor, or in CSL. Let's wait to hear what Sebastian has to say. adamsmith?

Can you provide a hint as to the identifier that you're using?

Tonghur, This looks like a bug in a recent version of the Abbreviations Filter plugin. The error should go away if you update the plugin. To update, open the "Add-ons" menu, right-click over the Abbreviation Filter entry, and select "Find updates"…
-
So to renew the question (sorry to be so persistent): Have you updated the plugin, and checked that it runs without error against your main document?
-
(Sorry, we crossed in the post.) Sorry I meant could that be a REFERENCE / item that was edited (manually) and does no longer sync with Zotero? Referring to your remark "there is at least one item in your main document that no longer exists in your …

If the document runs without error, then the "Anthropological Papers" failure is likely just a trivial problem with data entry or hand-edited (and therefore) static citation text.
-
I'm not sure I understand. Have you updated the plugin, and checked that it runs without error against your main document?
-
A fresh release is now up. If you update the plugin, you should get a better result. (Once we've confirmed that the crash issue is behind us, let's turn to the "Anthropological Papers" item.) (Edit: the bug that triggered the crash was not related…
