Sure. If the style class is "in-text", the strings generated by the "citation" block of the style will be put directly into the main text of the document. That's what happens in the author-date styles. A legal memorandum style is basically the sa…

Matt, Do you mean statute names (the Name of Act field in Zotero)? That's probably just "title".
-
In the short term, encoding spaces into styles that need them should do no harm; outer spaces can easily be stripped if another mechanism is adopted later on. Short thought: Why not go ahead and include explicit spaces in author-date styles now, a…

If only the forward-looking properties are available, and I have a decision of the U.S. Supreme Court, how would I discover the original trial judgment and intervening appellate judgements that gave rise to it (the procedural history of the case)?
-
In the short term, would it be possible to just add a "Field requests" category to the forums? Requests are often followed by significant discussion, and having that material spread across multiple areas of the forum does make things hard to follow…

Excellent, thanks! Just checked, and it is indeed fixed.

The new processor currently just returns the cite as defined in CSL. This seems like something that would be handled in the plugin?

Re (1), there is an "Added by" field in the Web view of each item. Re (2), each top-level shared group folder is a separate library. Once an item is copied into a library, it becomes a completely independent copy. Deleting it from that library wi…

Excellent, I was running into the same issue. Can confirm that cancelling works now. Thanks @fcheslack!

Another vote for a "place" field for the newspaper article type. The title and the place of publication need to be formatted separately, having the separate field would be great.

It might be meant to step around some browser quirk (I seem to remember that these almost-empty GIF images were needed to get IE to behave correctly in some situations). No idea why the file would need to have an HTML extension, but there could be …

Odd. Maybe there's another reason for this, but the publishers may be attempting to sabotage attempts at storage here? When the page is downloaded with all of its prerequisites, two files turn up in the bundle with the name "1.html" (the page name…

Just chiming in to agree vigorously that... A role with permissions to add but not delete would be very welcome; and A facility for backing up a group library would also be great to have.

As I understand it, the Zotero developers are working toward embedding citation data in the document itself, which should permit document sharing between users of Zotero, and of any other reference manager (Mendeley?) that uses the same data model a…

(Sorry, I'm not a Zotero developer, I just built the new citation formatting engine.)

Yes, in the current CSL processor, the strings used for ordinals are drawn from a localized file (zotero.properties) that provides the locale data for display purposes, and this follows Firefox. In the new processor (as required by CSL 1.0), these …

Hansard is the English equivalent of the Congressional Record. it contains the proceedings of Parliament. Seems appropriate content to enter as a Hearing.

Agreed that "bug" is maybe too strong a word, but it can be puzzling. I nearly gave up, because at first I thought I had done something to the item itself between the first and the second drag-and-drop that prevented copying (I had set "copy notes …

@Szabolcs, It was written against a trunk version of Zotero about a week ago. I don't know enough about the database schema to say, with any certainty, how well it will work against various flavors of 2.0. You'd have to try it and find out, keepi…

I can try. Is this the relevant BIBO entry? If so, I don't see anything in there about a disposition field ... but I don't see any other field names in there either. Should this specification have field names in it, or is it meant for some other …

For posterity, here are links to some of those earlier threads: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/1233/ http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/9133/ http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/9271/ The last thread in that list has a link to an external pr…

One more thread on this item: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/7167/move-author-updown/ As I understand it, the priority at the moment is to batten down the sync and groupwise storage features in version 2.0, and to pursue enhancements to the us…

Possible progress. The call to the group URL before logging in returns the login screen. The login is apparently successful; the "Welcome .." message in the upper right shows the user's name. Other pages are accessible in the logged-in state. Bu…

Great news. Was just fishing for a sign on whether it was in the roadmap at all, and that's the sign I was hoping for. Thanks, Dan!

Any forum for the active discussion of multi-lingual support would be welcome, as the whole topic seems to have taken on a certain disconcerting, self-silencing, write-only quality. Maybe that's a signal of some sort, but hope springs eternal.

Bump. Here is a link to a related ticket: https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/866 (Edit: The sparse discussion of this issue should not be taken as a measure of its importance. One of the reasons there has been little input from users in this par…

New ja-Latn-hepburn and ja-Latn-hepburn-heploc subtags have worked their way through the review process set up by RFC 4646, and are now available in the IANA Language Subtag Registry. If anyone has the need and would like to carry forward with othe…

This reminded me that I have a bunch of orphans in my own library, and lack the discipline to protect against their proliferation. I've written a small, rough script that can be used to identify orphan items, if you know your way around database ba…

Wild stuff. Nothing like this is possible in current CSL, and it's safe to say that it won't be possible to support it in CSL 1.0 either. The problem is that the organization of the cites in these examples differs in a fundamental way from orthodo…

@leonieve, is there a reason why you need to use a bespoke style? Just asking -- the idea behind the CSL infrastructure is to save time by reusing existing style code, and this seems to kind of cut against that.
