Ah. Not sure we're on the same version (Zotero 2.0b-whatnot here). Sorry I couldn't help.
-
Navigating from the directory where zotero.jar is located, you should find the translators in:../../../zotero/translators/which I guess on Windows is:..\..\..\zotero\translators\They're not zipped or anything, you can just drop the new version into …

To be fair, alexuw did report the loss of one child note recently, apparently caused by confusion of the UI under certain conditions under 64-bit Linux. Dan was not able reproduce data loss, but that bug has been fixed. Balanced against that, havi…

@ftr: You have the alternative of staying with FF version 3.5, of course.
-
Those steps don't show the bug here on 32-bit Linux (jaunty on a netbook, FF 3.6). Japanese text in one or more notes doesn't seem to cause a problem. I wasn't able to find a pref or changing the effect of a double-click. Where is that one? (EDI…

Not sure what this would add that is not possible in the current hierarchical collections arrangement ... ?

Firefox 3.6 needs a different Java plugin from 3.5. If you have Java installed on your machine, but you are unable to get the Java plugin to load or to validate under Firefox 3.6, this might be the cause. The plugin filename (on a Linux system) is…

Firefox 3.6 needs a different Java plugin, might that be the source of the problem? There is a jumble of cookbook instructions here; all that was needed for me was to create a symlink to the right file from the FF 3.6 plugins directory.
-
Short version: Have come across a bit of a glitch in translator behavior. Zotero does not associate translator-captured items with the last-visited collection until after the Zotero panel has been opened at least once after startup. Most users wil…

Thanks for this info! The publication status toggle didn't make it into CSL 1.0, but there's a CSL 1.1 ticket for it. I'll make a note that the processor needs to be able to deliver a three-tiered sort like this for dates.

Success with the following configuration under Ubuntu Linux (jaunty): Firefox 3.6 Open Office 3.0.1 Zotero 2.0b7r5614 Zotero OpenOffice Integration 3.0a6.r5318 Turns out a different Java plugin is required with FF 3.6, which the Firefox pl…

In Preferences -> Search, setting "Maximum pages to index per file" to 0 (zero) should do the trick.
-
If you select the item and right-click on it, there is a "Duplicate selected item" option in the popup menu. You can use that the clone the entry, and you only need to add the info for the volume. (EDIT: I missed an issue with the need to migrate …

Yes, please, by all means! When I have a break in the action here, I'll try to distill your info down to a wiki entry for Continental cases. The elements of your French citations are very similar to what we use for Japanese cases. I'd like to get…

@hydrodelta: In your case, the style is doing what it is meant to do. It has three disambiguation options set: disambiguate-add-names; disambiguate-add-givenname; and disambiguate-add-year-suffix. These are always applied in that order, with add-n…

An editorial-director variable has gone into the CSL 1.0 specification. The processor will handle things so that it plays nicely with existing styles that use "editor" for both concepts. The new variable will become available in Zotero version 2.1…

No worries, it's a confusing requirement. Arguably the CSL schema should refuse to validate the style when name-as-sort-order is used without the sort-separator attribute. (EDIT: Following this up, I've just had a brief chat with someone about CSL…

As adamsmith said back in October:you need to define the sort separator i.e. sort-separator=", "

'Twas a transient problem with that beta version of the browser. Upgrading Firefox to 3.6rc2 fixed it. Sorry for the ruckus.
-
Seems to be a feature of this browser version. With Firefox 3.6b3 under Linux, I don't get the green box, it returns the original unedited screen. With Firefox 3.0, it works with no problem, green box and all.
-
Possessives and cite positioning within the sentence in the main text ... hmmm ... I think I'm coming back around to adamsmith's take on this, at least for now. Trying to automate the "grammatical" conversions could be a very uncertain process.
-
@mel47: According to Dan's post above, it is available, no? (EDIT: as adamsmith says, um, no. Sorry, must read more carefully.)
-
That certainly sounds convenient, but some people might want (well, need) the modification date on an item to to tell the exact truth, as the date on which the item itself was last modified. It could be important when curating the entries in a larg…

@mblunk: The patch for tidying up Cyrillic initials has been added to the dev build (yay!). It will be included in the next beta release, if you can wait for a few days. If you want the fix right way, you can install the trunk xpi, but we're told …

The standard harvard1 style sorts by author, then title. Are the references by the same author coming out in title-sort order? It should be possible to modify the style to sort on author and date, if that's what you need (but just to be sure, plea…

After adding the entries, you can select them all (shift + left click), and drag and drop them onto an existing tag at the bottom of the left-hand panel. I don't know if there is a way to delete a tag from multiple entries.

Above, arggem wrote:What should be (Yoder, n.d., 1908, 1916, 1930) shows up as (Yoder). The bibliography is OK.I'm looking at dates again in the new processor, and I'm puzzling (again) over how to handle empty dates in a sort. Does anyone know the …

What adamsmith says (what I wouldn't do to lose that nickname, though!). I did seem to remember that hidden names can trigger disambiguation. Then I did a test earlier today, and they didn't seem to -- but I probably messed up in setting up the te…
