As I noted above, the syntax was introduced for testing purposes. It's working in current 2.1.8, but it is likely that it will be disabled in the next release.

I'll take your word for it that there is a problem, and I'd like to take a look, but I'm not in the zone on this. It would really help to have the issue laid out as a single "want this" / "got this" example.
-
It would help to have a sample entry that is formatted correctly, according to your requirements. It would also be helpful if you could paste the full style to gist.github.com, save it as a public gist, and post the URL from the address bar back her…

It's probably just breakage in the script, which makes (unjustified) assumptions about the environment. The XPI is here. I'll try to improve the dependency situation with the build script.

Thanks for the feedback on the behavior after a fresh install. I'll try to spend some time looking at that situation soon, and smooth over any rough edges. On the last point, yes, that's the way it's set up currently -- it's a "big hammer" approach…

(If the answer is to the above question is "yes", then it is possible to do this. It's tricky, but I can provide some sample code and walk you through how it works.) (Youi'll want to have Zotero 2.1.8 installed, though.)

So Mocci and Mocca are different persons?
-
We have experimental code for exactly this, which will be considered for inclusion in CSL in due course (see this test case, and this one as well). The multilingual version of Zotero (see this skeleton manual for more details) has support for settin…

Thanks for the response. This is the kind of feedback we need. We do listen, but things don't get extended if YAGNI.

On legal citation issues generally, see this post: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/9489/style-request-canadian-uniform-legal-citation-mcgill-guide/#Item_24 Short version: We need to get collaboration up and running in order to cope with the co…

There has been talk of it, but no action so far. Is there an immediate reason why it should be made configurable? Certainly one use case will be for styles centered in an Asian language, which might use a completely different character (such as ~) …

Thanks for this report. It was agreed in the CSL group that it should be en-dash. I'll be making a fresh release of the processor soon, and will address this there.
-
@eamoone, What adamsmith said. If you're embedding the markup in a web page, you can control the appearance of the 2.1 output with CSS declarations set in the page.
-
Megan, Philippe, other law users, I've built a tool for building style tests, that should be useful for the legal styles. We have a lot of hard cases, where subtle changes to formatting must be made according to the authority being cited. Many of …

Try reinstalling now.

Oh, wait. Are you running a non-English locale? If so, that is almost certainly the cause of your difficulties, and I'll be pushing put an update in a few minutes that should get things going again.
-
What are the other details of your platform (Windows, Mac, version)?
-
An update just went out an hour or so ago, including the latest trunk changes (of which there were many). Try reinstalling. If that doesn't help, post again and we'll start trying to figure out what's broken.
-
... or not. This was too annoying to ignore. I've put up an update that should have translation working again.
-
I've had a look. It will be next week before I'm able to wade into the code and fix this.
-
Including "multilingual" in the title was the key -- I'll check into this soon.
-
The link is to a development ticket. Nothing in the discussion has been implemented yet; we're still trying to figure out a graceful way to address this use case. But you can see that we're actually thinking about it and working on it. :) (Edit: To…

If you publish in mixed languages, you can't really avoid tagging your references for language, going forward. As systems become more precise and capable, that information becomes necessary. Correctly handling individual fields within an item will …

A solution to this issue is in the works. If all goes well, with the next Zotero release you should be able to specify "de" in the Language field, and find that text-case="title" does not transform the field content; and that in styles with default-…

There is a ticket for this in the CSL schema tracker.

No problems so far. If you run into further hard cases, let us know.
-
Turning off the hack is no problem. The same goes for the rest of 'these "experimental" features', but I'd have to be told what they are.
-
That's fair; and the recent back-and-forth over superscripting in locale terms is a good example of the kind of confusion you describe. In this case, though, the solution is fairly obvious, so I went ahead with an opportunistic solution. Optional l…

@Gracile, The processor will recognize (via an experimental extension that is not valid CSL) entirely separate cs:layout nodes for separate languages. Avram (ajlyon) has suggested that a controlled mechanism within CSL could (well, should) allow te…

For attachments as well, I have sometimes thought that it would be convenient to have a means of grabbing content attachments in one step. It would be tricky to set up an intuitive UI for that, but it would be a handy feature.
