@timtak: there are always screenshots. They can be posted by linking to ImageShack or a similar graphics hosting service.

Re this one: 2) Link to Zotero's stored PDFs and user-created folder of PDFs. spartanroc's modifications are exporting the filepaths correctly, but there is a problem with JabRef and cb2Bib reading them properly, the files won't open, as well as Ja…

According to the project website, the first public beta of the Docear suite was release a month ago, and the first bugfix update was made ten days ago. Patience. :)
-
Excellent. It's just a temporary thing to upgrade the processor. When the next Zotero release comes out, it will contain the upgraded processor, and you can uninstall the plugin.
-
Named subunits (Preface, Foreword, Afterword etc) are a hard problem. I don't know that there is a solution yet. For the names, Zotero 3.0.x doesn't have a way of flagging the correct order for names rooted in a non-roman script. The best you could…

I think I found the source of trouble with installing the plugin to Standalone. The Zotero version number was completely out of date -- I'm wondering why it allowed itself to be installed at all.
-
Try installing this plugin; it replaces the Zotero citation processor with the most recent development version, which should recognize ranged alpha-prefixed page numbers as plural. If it doesn't work properly on a sample document, Zotero will revert…
-
If you update the plugin again, you may find that your pre-collapsed ranges come through properly as plurals now. Raise a shout if there are problems. (Still have to fix up the Standalone compatibility issue. Should have that done in a day or so.)
-
I'll run a test on this. It certainly can and should work properly. Thanks for reporting; it should be fixed in the next Zotero release.

@A_Hartmann, Just in case there is a misunderstanding, this thread is about name disambiguation by the CSL processor, when citations are formatted. The discussion here isn't related to the detection of duplicate items in the Zotero database.
-
Dan is referring to sites for which there are translators to download proper metadata. For example, for a New York Times article, you will find an icon in the address bar. Left-clicking on it (in Firefox, or in Safari or Chrome if they have the Zote…

You should be able to control the appearance of footnote markers via stylesheets in the word processor. As far as I know, Zotero does not do anything to control the specifics of footnote markers.
-
The abbreviation lists are separate from the styles. Nothing comprehensive is yet available; I've just been building small lists for testing in connection with the style proofsheets, to get the structure right. When the styles stabilise (probably in…

I should be able to do a trial with Linux standalone in the next few days. I think it may just be a version compatibility thing; the code should run fine in SA. Should have more news in a day or two.
-
Great. I'm doing some work around locators for law support today (bills and statutes), and I'll do some testing of plurals detection along the way. When I have something to show, I'll make a fresh release of the plugin. I haven't run Standalone muc…

Does this affect all styles? If not, which style?
-
Give this a try with a copy of one of your documents (in Firefox, for the moment; we'll need to work out how to install plugins in Standalone -- it's possible, but I'm not sure how it's done yet): http://gsl-nagoya-u.net/http/pub/zotero-processor…

Will do. I should have the plugin going within the next day or two. The ideal solution, for flexibility, will be to have it just upgrade the CSL processor on the fly. We'll see how it goes, more soon.
-
Well, this is a problem isn't it, and obviously should have been documented clearly up front (by me, as maintainer of the processor). Let's figure out what to do. The first point would be that, as far as I know, ordinary Chicago style does not plac…

Those entries are flagged as "page" locators, and the "p." can be added by the style. Is that an acceptable solution?
-
CMS Note without Bibliography is a footnote style, so a citation with multiple items will appear (correctly) as one footnote, no? If you want a style with numbers in text that correspond to bibliography entries, you should use a numeric style. Or am…

Which style, and which version of Zotero?
-
Oh. That's not good, maybe we won't go there. Had I thought things through, I would have realised that must be the case. You'll enjoy the back-story. Japanese national universities, which (apart from the NDL) are the backbone of the library system …

Not while relying on Zotero for citation formatting, no. Can you give a specific example of an incorrect sort, with a parallel example of the correct sort order?
-
Would also like to have NACSIS Webcat. If no one gets to it, it will be in my sights as the mutlilingual/law project (MLZ) matures (sometime during the summer is likely). We can capture multiple languages in MLZ now, so a full-service translator sho…

Apart from the visual clutter, markup in Zotero fields affects sort behavior. This may be addressed in Zotero 3.5, but you might look at the Abbreviations Plugin as a solution. You would import your records to Zotero with markup tags stripped, and r…
-
This would be a separate issue. I think I understand your description. The problem is that a trailing top-level block that produces no output causes the layout suffix to fail? If so, that might well have slipped through in testing (I'm away from the…

That's great. Please post again if you run into cases where it doesn't work correctly.
-
Sorry for that glitch. The next Zotero release will set Statute items as CSL type "legislation" (they used to be set as "bill", the same as for Bill items). It turned out that very few styles had tested for the "legislation" type, so I added it to a…

I've actually done an experiment with this, just beyond the edge of the CSL 1.0 schema. Try rendering the locator as number rather than text. That is, change this: To this: ... and see if that helps. This isn't valid CSL, but I'd be interested to kn…
