I'm running a configuration like that mentioned by ajlyon, with a single Zotero data folder under NTFS on a dual-boot machine. The Zotero on both the Linux and Windows sides of the machine are set up to use that folder, and it seems to work just fin…

I'm certainly open to persuasion, but I don't really have a sense of what people commonly put into the affix fields. In my own writing I often put full sentences in there, but that's just me. Sebastian (adamsmith) may be able to say something about …

Setting the required space on the delimiter is the way to go, at least for now. The inter-cite join is already pretty slippery, and I'd rather not try to code further smarts into it unless that proves to be necessary.

Here is the current table of MLZ additions.

Ah, right. My post above is about issues on the output side. If the input is messed up, manual intervention can't be avoided as you say.

MLZ currently cites properly registered names in the order implicitly appropriate to the script in which they are written. There was formerly a toggle to preserve the order of the name when it is transliterated, which I will be restoring at some poi…

I'm thinking there would be two elements to the Language field UI: a field that click-opens to a search box; and a button that opens a menu of known languages. The search box would provide a search-as-you-type listing of RFC 5646 primary languages. …

Re year-suffix and the no-date term, I would be a little reluctant to apply the suffix implicitly. It requires a different join (an implicit hyphen in most cases, I guess), and style authors might be confused about where the joining character comes …

If Mikko's solution will serve in the short term I'm all +1 for that! On year-suffix suppression, I think at the moment the processor sniffs the style for any explicit year-suffix when it is first installed, and turns off the implicit behaviour glo…

(I didn't pick up that the post was by Mikko. Apologies!) For MLZ, I agree that it would make sense to add the bibliography language setting to the other document language preferences. It will be a month or two before I can get to it, but I'll put …

@JoshuaP23: Have you tried both drag and shift-drag? One of the tick-boxes swaps the behaviour of those two, so try both. Alternatively, with wrapped citations enabled, Ctrl-Alt-A should always copy a wrapped citation to the clipboard.

One of the things I'd like to do in MLZ is to replace the free-text Language field with a controlled list pulldown, which should eliminate this potential source of confusion.
-
It's a client-level setting in MLZ, but it you customize the styles you use, you could make versions that are tied to particular languages. Some relevant links: https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step http:…

That would be great. One thing I might do to help smooth the process is to build the MLZ field tables with highlights on fields not found in official Zotero. That way, we could for easily tell at a glance whether a proposed field has been covered or…

@JoshuaP23: The code for MLZ could be bundled as Standalone, but someone will need to come forward to build the clients. Unfortunately I don't have access to a Windows or a Mac development environment (and lack the time for the extra work in any cas…

@Gracile: The markup for small caps has changed to align it with HTML: http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/rich_text_bibliography

I've read through the discussion, and I have at least a loose grasp on the issue. Making implicit year-suffix insertion more intelligent would be pretty cumbersome, and where it was needed to get a language working correctly with APA-like styles, we…

You can preview the item types and field assignments of the new version here: http://fbennett.github.com/z2csl/typeMap.xml If you see anything missing in the types you use most frequently, let me know. This is a really good time for feedback.

The project now has a home here: http://citationstylist.org/ (Edit: Note that the client and styles will change significantly when the next version goes live. It's a speed bump on the road to stability, but a bump nonetheless.)

To clean up some loose ends, I've broken the mold in MLZ and will be introducing new fields and types in the next release, coming up within the next couple of weeks. The changes will go straight into the database schema. That will break database com…

I have a major release of MLZ in waiting at the moment. The new client will be much easier to work with -- the hack menu in the Extra field will go away, and the fields there will be moved up into the main interface; and multilingual field variants …

I'm not sure what you mean in your first question. Can you place a screenshot on a service like http:://imgur.com and post the URL back here? On the author's name, check references in your document that include an author with surname "Tan". If the …

There is a guide out for the NZ Law style. The style relies on MLZ. If you try MLZ with the style now, expect some upcoming changes that will make managing your data a little easier.

Just checked in MLZ, and with that option enabled and no Standalone running it seems to work fine. The item appears immediately on the Firefox client side.
-
Is this with the official Zotero client (or Standalone), or with MLZ? (There should be no difference in behaviour between the two, but just in case.)
-
I looked at this a few days ago out of curiousity. There is some code in there for drag-and-drop, but it is either unrelated to the reordering of items or it is a work in progress. Reordering items is not currently possible in the Z input widget.

Here are a couple of screenshots of my starting point. http://i.imgur.com/vK4Rd.png http://i.imgur.com/RNcnI.png Changes over the current official Zotero panel are: (1) Remove Place, Country, Issuing Authority, References, and Legal Status; …

In MLZ, I'm getting ready to break the mold in the item panel for the legal types, including patent. In reworking the layout, we can add and drop fields, and I would be interested in feedback. If anyone has a specific list of things that should be i…

Tables of cases and tables of statutes will not be implemented unless partial bibliographies are implemented in official Zotero. As far as I know there is no immediate plan for that. You'll have to insert them manually by generating a bibliography f…

That Fed. Supp. cite form will need to be fixed in the style as well, I see.
