@wonblee: To handle case names properly, we'll need to be able to transform the long and the short forms independently. That isn't working currently, because form="short" for titles and variable="title-short" have the same effect on all item types: …

@goncalogato: I just spotted a silly flaw in the processor revision I put up. Try reinstalling the processor patch plugin, and see if it works better now.
-
@goncalogato: There is a hidden EndNote citation in the document you sent. You should remove that, and then go through the steps for debugging broken documents here. If those steps don't get the document working, post again here and the Zotero devel…

With data supplied by @goncalogato, I think I've tracked this one down. The bug appears to have been triggered by uncited items in the bibliography of affected documents. I have prepared a fix, and it would be a great help if people affected by this…

Ah. It looks like I made an adjustment to handle multiple date mappings in my fork of z2csl [patch]. The MLZ-compatible fork is here: https://github.com/fbennett/z2csl
-
@Gracile: You may be running an older version of the MLZ Client. The latest version is not database-compatibile Zotero, so the upgrade is not automatic. If you reinstall from http://citationstylist.org/tools/, you'll get the latest. If you already …

I've tried adding an item by the same author in the same year in a simple document, and it goes in fine. It might be related, but we'll need to pin down the full set of conditions. The key is to reliably trigger the error. If inserting a particular …

@nmstuewe, @goncalogato: Sounds like we have a processor bug that needs clearing up. To track down the exact cause, I'll need to reproduce the error at this end. I've tried a few combinations of input that I thought might possibly trigger something…

The current assignments, marked for where they differ from official Zotero and CSL, are available here: http://fbennett.github.com/z2csl/diffMap.html

The style isn't valid CSL-m. You can check it with the CSL-m online validator here: http://fbennett.github.com/csl-validator.js/ In CSL-m the authority variable is always handled as a creator, since it may consist of several institutional sub-el…

I can take a look. Can you paste your version of the style to http://gist.github.com, save it as a Public Gist, and post the URL from the address bar back here?
-
For me, with American Law style in MLZ, I get the short title for both the first and subsequent references if the Short Title field exactly matches the first party name. This isn't what we want, so some adjustment in the processor will be necessary,…

I managed to get a modified version of the visualEditor to come up with CSL-m styles, but unfortunately it is not going to be useable. There are two problems. One is that the CSL-m styles have very deep conditional nesting. This is an exceptional bu…

Which style are you using?

I looked at the visualEditor again today, and I think I can get a CSL-m version online soon, possibly even tomorrow.
-
Also, the {:jurisdiction:us} workaround has gone away in the latest version of MLZ: the latest client version has proper fields for Jurisdiction and the other added values. The upgrade is not performed automatically, because it breaks database compa…

The tables don't provide complete coverage, and they can be expanded on demand. Eventually we'll need a proper process, but for now, if you post a list of desiderata I can stir them in.

Thanks to Simon's work, an online validator for CSL-m styles is up now: http://fbennett.github.com/csl-validator.js/ I'll be making some further formatting adjustments to avoid risk of confusion with Simon's validator for official CSL, but the n…

With a bit of work, it is possible to set up a version of the visualEditor based on the extended schema (new nickname "CSL-m"). I plan to set that up and get it online eventually. Meanwhile, you'll have to edit styles by hand. I should soon at leas…

Your code sample is not valid. You can read about validation here: https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/wiki/Validation In any case, what you are trying to do there is not possible in CSL.

The patch plugin now contains a processor update that should work with the original code.
-
Okay, that's done it. The bug is triggered by presence of a URL for some reason. I'll see if I can figure out what's going on with the processor.
-
Maybe there was something in the pattern of input data I used that affected the result. Can someone post an export of an item that failed locally?
-
Well, this is odd. I ran the style of the gist above (which sets the suffix and quote attributes on a cs:text node with macro) in the test-bed, with all options turned off, just as it would run in Zotero. The punctuation still comes out inside the q…

Ah. One other difference is that I was running MLZ, which has different toggles turned on in the processor. I'll take a look at that angle when I can get to it.

I just upgraded Firefox, and the style is still putting the period inside the quote. Maybe someone else can make it fail?
-
I'm on FF17. Otherwise it's the same environment as yours (I'm using the Ubuntu distro). Sounds like maybe things will break when I upgrade. In a way it will be good if they do, since we'll have the cause.
-
It doesn't work with diacritics, though, so the fully transliterated form aṭ-Ṭūsī -- that's "t with dot below" -- is still sorted under "A". At some point, someone will need that to work also.Ah, right. This is done with pattern matching, and it has…

Christian, If you update the patch plugin, you should get lowercase on the hyphenated particles now. Frank

With that style, a chapter title comes out with the full stop inside the quotes here.
