Your bug reports are very much welcome. There has been a lot of work going into testing the new CSL processor, and we'll have to see if the behavior you describe has already been fixed. Several similar issues have been fixed in the trunk builds-- …

Replace your CrossRef.js with this: http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/CrossRef.js Then try again. You may have to restart Firefox for it to take effect, I don't remember.

For reference, this has a ticket in Trac: https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/865

Actually, I think that the EBSCO translator does have problems with PDF saving. That will eventually be fixed, but I don't know when.
-
Support for saving full-text HTML or PDF is dependent on the website you are saving from. If you are using a database that provides full-text and Zotero isn't capturing it, post the appropriate information here and we'll try to add support for full-…

The DO field being used by EBSCO is not part of the RIS specification (http://www.refman.com/support/risformat_intro.asp), but I've added support for it to the EBSCO translator (https://www.zotero.org/trac/changeset/7239), and it should work when Da…

Well, the EBSCO translator looks for DOIs in the L3 field in RIS. Can you click "Export" and "Export to generic citation management software" for a record that has a DOI but the DOI isn't captured by Zotero, then paste the contents of that page here…
-
@Rintze: That sounds like a problem in the way that CSL is interpreted-- why should the rendering or non-rendering of creator roles depend on whether the appropriate terms are defined in the localization files?
-
Zotero hides the URL when a page range is specified. To change this behavior, change the preference in the Styles pane of the Zotero preferences.
-
But there is an APA 5th edition style in case your institution/publisher is still going by the old rules: http://www.zotero.org/styles/apa5th
-
Yes, but I thought that it was possible to semi-automate this process by having Word run AutoCorrect; usually it does AutoCorrect-as-you-type, which is not activated when the Zotero integration plugin adds URLs. I think you can have Word run AutoCor…
-
How are you importing citations? From a file? From websites? Not all site translators catch DOIs, but we may be able to add DOI capture for sites that you identify as needing such.
-
Ah. Does running AutoCorrect manually catch them and turn them into hyperlinks? Zotero shouldn't convert them by default, since the styling of URLs is dictated by the style (that said, perhaps it is possible to make them into hyperlinks and still ov…

See my post above.

I have multiple libraries and frequently use export / import to move items from one to the other (export / import seems to be the only way to do this - and I don't really want to have a single library at the moment), so this is kind of an issue. Yo…
-
It would not be easy to have Zotero do what you describe without using import and export. That said, I agree that Zotero provides a uniquely user-friendly way to curate metadata. If you build the online database to import and export, say, the RDF th…

Yes -- there is an entry with too long an entry in its "Extra" field. Search for "http://www.loc.gov/catdir/bios/ucal051" in your library and shorten the Extra field.

Try loading a webpage that automatically refreshes every few minutes to keep the connection alive -- I think that http://news.google.com does that.
-
You can also sync at an off-peak time, when there's no queue at all. It might be useful to add some figures on peak / off-peak times for general interest and for reference in such cases. Perhaps a page on the knowledge base with general stats on nu…

[XPIs are in fact zipped directories.]

You should be able to download and extract the trunk XPI to get essentially the same files.
-
I'm not seeing this menu -- I installed the XPI, I can open and use the preferences window, but I see no such menu.
-
Not surprising at all -- we had not accounted for the possibility of https in the translator. I've committed a fix (https://www.zotero.org/trac/changeset/7202) and it will go to clients in the next version of Zotero or when Dan pushes it.

The key place in the code is CrossRef.js in the translators directory of your Zotero data directory; we need to add support for a new type. The CrossRef output for an SAE paper looks like this: http://www.crossref.org/openurl/?pid=zter:zter321&u…
-
The SAE translator itself is broken, but that's not a major issue since they all have DOIs assigned. Unfortunately, Zotero doesn't yet load bibliographic data for documents of type report-paper correctly -- this will have to be fixed in the translat…

Can you provide a sample citation of this piece? My guess is that Report is best.

All of these services are black boxes in some way. There are ways to limit the information you provide Google when paying through them. Zotero has never listed PayPal as an option-- I only know that they have on occasion accepted payment via PayPal…

The authoritative guide to field mappings is: http://gsl-nagoya-u.net/http/pub/csl-fields/index.html

RIght-click and retrieve metadata. Unfortunately you still have to create a parent item manually if Zotero doesn't find matching data.
-
See http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/bibliographies_in_different_languages -- you may want to set the bibliography locale to "en-US".
