Can you make a screencast or screenshots of what you're seeing? This is indeed odd. I have seen funny issues at times, but they were linux-only, and related to Firefox bug (or maybe X.org?). They could be addressed by switching focus away from and b…

Modifying translators.zip will do nothing. Go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/Wiley InterScience.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data). I'll s…

Export formats are relatively easily modified-- just edit BibTeX.js in the translators directory of your Zotero data directory to meet your needs.

No, this is a big deal. But it's not what everyone is seeing, so we need to figure out why this happens fo you, when it doesn't happen for other people. I don't see why it would matter, but try installing the next most recent release, 2.1rc1. Are y…

But still, maybe that error ID is enough. I'll install standalone again and see what I can do.
-
Does this happen with a single reference? If so, can you post one such reference here? I'll take a look and see what we can do.
-
Can you provide a debug ID for an attempt to look up an ISBN? See http://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output
-
I think that's enough for me, especially since the previous version didn't work at all. I've committed this to the Zotero trunk, and it should hit users within 24 hours of Dan pushing it, or with the next Zotero release.

Drag them into Zotero. Select a few at a time and select "Retrieve metadata for PDF". Zotero will attempt to find the metadata for the item and attach the PDF to a new item if possible. When the automatic method fails, you'll need to either create a…

Try installing from Github again-- I was making some bad assumptions that led all items without a PDF to be missed when capturing from search results.
-
I can't replicate this with http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?doid=1542130.1542163 Are you perhaps seeing a different URL? Or the page content is different? The translator would save multiple PDFs if there were multiple matches for the XPath expre…

You'd have to do this by modifying the database directly. It can be safe-- just close Firefox and make a backup first.
-
Well I'll be. I had indeed overlooked /top. I'll go add that to my Atom feed request now.
-
Also, the nature of my research makes real duplicates exceedingly rare, so I haven't had call to use the feature extensively.
-
I can't exclude the possibility that I was just doing things wrong. I'll play with it some more and report back with more concrete, and thereful useful, feedback.
-
cumuluss's experience with not having the "use existing partner" option is something I ran into as well when testing the duplicates view.
-
See https://developer.mozilla.org/en/XULRunner_tips I haven't tried, but it should work fine.
-
When I use Zotero in the old way (non-tab) and enlarge Firefox to full view (F11), then the zotero button bar disappears. It does appear fine when not in full screen mode. The Firefox developers have apparently decided that the "add-ons bar" should b…

I agree. This is a little annoying when taking Zotero's Atom feeds and feeding them into other software. I'd like a flag to hand Zotero so it would show only parent items in feeds, and the child items should indicate their parents on the website. T…

Try downloading again from the address at Github. These should start working for you.
-
I'll look into these -- I'd missed some URL schemes in my initial testing.
-
Your university is using a proxying system that presents Firefox and Zotero with URLs that don't in any way indicate that they refer to JSTOR. The current translator expects to see "jstor.org" in the URL. The only reason you are seeing any icons at…

I can imagine why you'd want an alert for an internal application of Zotero-- but they're not permitted in translators that ship with Zotero. It would be nice to allow more interactive site translators in general-- with somewhat more flexibility th…

The translator requires at least Firefox 3.6, but otherwise I think it should work. You can delete the existing "ProQuest.js" as well, but I don't think it should cause a problem. Can anyone else with next-gen ProQuest access please test this?
-
Zotero offers all standard export formats as well as an open standard, which allows e.g. one click syncing to Mendeley. To be fair, reading directly from Zotero's internal database, while easy because Zotero's code is available for perusal and the …

Just click "Show Zotero data directory" in the Zotero preferences. And once we test this, it will be pushed to all users, so your students won't have to install it manually.
-
Sorry about this one-- I had apparently shipped a broken translator. Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/Project MUSE.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/su…

What version of Zotero are you using? I know that the citation processor in the 2.1 betas has been extensively tested on just this kind of thing, so it should work there.

Alternatively, send them to zotero-dev (http://groups.google.com/group/zotero-dev/), the main forum for translator development.

What you're doing is not the recommended Zotero way of saving things. When you find an item you like, either in a page of search results or when viewing the page for a specific item, just click the folder or page icon in the address bar up top. Zote…
