  • Can you run pdftotext with the arguments / options exactly as in the debug output? And other PDFs index fine, right?
  • This is a Linux (maybe WM/DE? maybe Mozilla?) bug that I'm having a mess of a time finding the report for, but you should be able to switch quickly to a different window and back, and this will go away. I use alt-tab to switch to another active wind…
  • I defer to adamsmith. Thanks for contributing, and I'll try to keep my nose out of this in the future. :)
  • In this case, I suppose that's being overridden by the other guideline of sticking to a single thread for closely related or identical issues. But no worries. I'll try to make the wording there on the style submission page more clear-- and the only …
  • I'm sure adamsmith will get this into the repository. But you don't need to open a new thread for something like this-- you can just add it to the existing thread.
  • I can reproduce this by exporting the results from that query to BibTeX and importing from the clipboard. Error report 1385787362. This doesn't crash Firefox 4 for me, but Zotero does demand that I restart it: "An error has occurred. Please restart…
  • In case someone runs into problems with importing BibTeX from Papers 1.x to Zotero, watch out for illegal item types. These will prevent Zotero from correctly importing your items. You'll need to do a search-and-replace on the BibTeX to replace the …
  • And if someone on the core dev team can take a look at the debug report for other clues, that'd be great.
  • Can you check if /home/brian/.mozilla/firefox/e6xak270.default/zotero/storage/NKESJDPQ/.zotero-ft-cache is in fact created? Does it contain a word list? If not, can you run the pdftotext command manually? What happens?
  • In that case we need some example URLs of pages that show this issue with the dates. The creators are separated by the "and" term in the user interface language-- it's not yet possible to use the language of the item to determine the language of th…
  • What version of what word processor? What version of Zotero? What operating system? Can you create new documents and use Zotero with them?
  • This might be a conscious decision made for security reasons. Maybe Faolan (the web site developer) can comment?
  • Can you take a look at the Zotero debug log for an attempt to index the PDF? See http://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output Just enable debug output, select the item and click the "Index / Reindex" button in the right panel of the Zotero pane/tab, …
  • Looks like there was an issue with tables of contents. Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/Wiley Online Library.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/…
  • Note that this is because SpringerLink is supported through the DOI translator. See http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/default_translators for more information.
  • So dates you enter in plain-text in the date field are only parsed correctly when you enter them in Japanese? I believe that Zotero is supposed to parse them correctly in your current locale (ja-JP) and in English (and I'm hoping that this list will…
  • This is a nice suggestion and it would be great if it could be taken into account. A big question is how well information such as the current language is exposed to integration plugins and how reliable that information is. I also foresee some issues…
  • For some reason, only #cite is allowed, and it's explicitly treated in /chrome/content/zotero/preferences/preferences.js, lines 73-75. You should be able to add a similar clause for #sync or other preference panes and rebuild the XPI. Perhaps hansv…
  • See http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/client_coding/building_the_standalone_client -- but the instructions may need to be updated, and those instructions are probably too Linux-centric to be very useful for you in Windows. Hopefully the team will c…
  • The wiki doesn't seem to be telling the browser or anything that that page is in Arabic and thus should use an RTL layout. DokuWiki supports RTL stylesheets: http://www.dokuwiki.org/devel:css My first guess is that since we haven't enabled translat…
  • My little code comments (really comments on your questions in the code), are posted at Google Code. I'll commit to the repo as soon as you want-- this looks useful. We can still push further updates as necessary as we refine the export. Import woul…
  • Can you try running pdftotext on the OCR'ed PDFs manually and see what you get? It's possible that gscan2pdf is embedding text in a way that Zotero just can't understand.
  • The default metaphor in Zotero is "collection" -- and an item can be a member of many collections. You may be better off using tags and saved searches for the unread/read classification.
  • You'll have to select a style (http://www.zotero.org/styles) that provides more data for newspapers.
  • Update to Zotero 2.1.6 first of all. Please provide error and debug reports as Dan describes above.
  • Is it not the first one listed? Alphabetical? I think there's a logic to it, but I don't remember what.
  • We could use the same interface of prompting the user to save, but I'm not happy with the prospect of a user running a search and clicking the folder icon, selecting several items from the available ones using the Select Items dialog, then being pro…
  • No, no reason. I'll try to get it added soon.
  • The content=json is used in the write API: http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/server_write_api#creating_an_item I just went ahead and added it to the main docs.
  • With a request like https://api.zotero.org/users/5770/items?key=XXXX&content=json -- I get a response that includes: 1
