Hi folks, in case it's useful -- just now I ran the Find Full Text command on multiple records, including 3 from Journal of Clinical Epidemiology (published by Elsevier). I got lots of captchas -- more than five I think -- I missed the first one bec…

Yes, that screenshot shows what I was aiming for. When I right clicked the extension icon in Firefox, I was getting a menu with manage extension, remove extension, report extension, etc. It worked as expected in Chrome. And now it's working in Firef…

Hey, that is good news! Thanks poettli

Hi -- just an FYI, my university is encouraging the use of Word Online (rather than the application), and they finally got around to allowing users to install the EndNote Add-On for Word Online. I don't know if that matches what is happening at othe…

Hi - like Thomas and the other people in this thread, I would value an "update record" feature. I just spoke with a library user who wants to switch away from EndNote but doesn't want to lose this feature.

We have a separate copy of the still-linked version, happily. Good to know about the formatting.
-
Wow! So fast. And it's very helpful to include the update directions. Thank you!
-
Look at that! Thanks, just what I was wishing for!

I got confused between idem and ibid, whoops!

@Damnation "If you want to refer to a note listed previously in the text, then at the endnote entry use id. or supra, as is warranted. " From https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/journal-of-law-medicine-and-ethics/information/author-instructions…

PS, when I saw that the 3rd citation above has authors and title only (not the journal and year and page), I thought, "did I not select the whole thing when I was copying and pasting?" But I checked and yes, that's the whole of the output.

Thanks for explaining.

I'm picking on up this old thread because I have noticed that the APA CV style isn't doing the correct reverse chronological order for conference papers/posters. I put all my conference presentations into Zotero records manually. Mostly they have a…

Hi -- that's good to know about URL/PMID, thanks. And, I can't provide a DeBug ID because it's working fine now :) (via magic wand and via connector). Hoorah! No idea why but I will take it.

Thanks, good to know.

Huh, I've always thought I was pressing the icon with the quotation mark with lines. I just switched phones, and I guess I used to unintentionally hit the correct icon, and now with a different phone+case, now I'm touching the (wrong) icon I always …

I support Pstahlhofen's suggestion. As a librarian I recommend Zotero all the time, but library users who use screen readers stick with EndNote because of (relatively) better accessibility. I will never be able to recommend that my university stop t…

Ok, now I understand more about how this works. And I know how to seek an OA version with unpaywall as a prefix, without having to load the VOR and then use the plugin, so that's a win :)

Thank you!

So I'm not very patient -- I just disabled both plugins, without testing them separately. The slowness can happen in all kinds of situations -- when I'm searching in my Zotero library for a record, when I'm trying to toggle a tag on or off. When I a…

So I noticed, in January 2024, that I get a richer snapshot if I click on the "expand all content" button of a clinicaltrials.gov record webpage. Is there any way to get that to happen automatically, so that I could add to Zotero multiple records, w…

Looks good to me. And wow, installing the new style was super easy -- one click and it did itself!

Sorry, I forgot to follow up. I just tried again, and yes, the items have actual dates. Here's the order (when using the APA CV style): - an item with the item type "web page," date 2019, and no access date - an item with the item type "web page," …

OK, back with more questions about "Find Available PDF." I just tried that command on a record that I had in my Zotero library already, without a PDF. The record had the DOI and a ScienceDirect URL. I'm on campus and ScienceDirect recognizes our IP …

Would be nice to bring back. +1 Especially because publishers so often stop providing access to supplemental files. On the other hand, the disorganization that leads to lost supplemental files is probably *why* it's hard to keep such a feature work…

Closing the loop -- the problem went away. Thanks though!

OK, thanks

Hi, chiming in to say - I think accessibility is a high-priority issue and I hope a great, experienced developer has been hired. I don't use screen readers myself but as a librarian I just spoke with a library user who does, and uses EndNote becaus…
