  • Now that entry-dictionary and entry-encyclopedia are functional, I have been revising our school's Zotero style definition (which is based on that of the Chicago Manual of Style). I can do almost everything I want to do with these item types except …
  • Thanks—I was wondering when the old styles would be deprecated, and so far I like how Github works.
  • I am getting this error when trying to commit (I didn't have this problem yesterday). I double-checked my password, deleted my working copy, and checked out a fresh copy from https://www.zotero.org/svn/csl/, and it still didn't work. I thought perha…
  • I almost included an explanation for that. I discovered this when looking for a workaround for individually titled volumes in a set (while we wait for hierarchical items), so I used the example that was close at hand. But the oddness of the example …
  • In Zotero 2.1.6 the HTML-like tags are fantastic. I have noticed, however, that the word-processor integration seems to be lagging behind the processor in dealing with this. A book item with tags is processed in the "Zotero Reference Text pane" b…
  • It turns out that RefWorks DOES NOT bring in these hits. One commonality between hits that do not important is that there is no PublicationType in the metadata. In the meantime, using BibTeX is at least better than typing everything: 1. …
  • Okay, I've worked with our reference librarian on this one and a few issues have surfaced: 1. Our library upgraded its service with EBSCOHost, adding eight additional databases to have a more integrated search. It is typically, but not always, …
  • Yes, you are right. JSTOR results don't work but others do. That helps.
  • The search url is: http://ehis.ebscohost.com/ehost/results?hid=23&sid=469f0c33-4bc5-4db3-9b28-ac3f3ba3b874%40sessionmgr10&vid=2&bquery=%28%28der+AND+priesterliche+AND+tora%29%29&bdata=JmRiPWFwaCZkYj1haGwmZGI9cmZoJmRiPWJzaCZkYj11ZmgmZ…
  • Yeah, it was working fine for me when my friend came to me, but this morning it quit working. I don't recall updating Firefox, and the version number for Zotero hasn't changed since he came to me. I searched for "der priesterliche tora" and non…
  • Yes, it is the DOI translator. I noticed that when I was using it, but I didn't know what it was, nor did I carefully check the result. The workaround is good for now.
  • Ditto. Works for me. I actually updated my translators and restarted Firefox, and now things are working as normal except for multiple search hits. I can take in a citation at a time normally.
  • Judging by the two previous cases in which this problem came up, the Zotero folks are pretty fast about fixing this translator (a matter of a day or two). But it is summer, after all.
  • I appears that EBSCO updated its interface today, and the translator is now broken in the same manner as in the original post from 2008. I got an email from a colleague about this and confirmed it on my own machine using FF 3.6.8 and Zotero 2.0…
  • Excellent--I'm glad to hear it. I will look forward to this. Thanks for the quick response.
  • I agree, but some of us need a workable solution that can be implemented quickly. Have you had any response to that idea from developers?
  • Rather than placing a volume title with the "Series Title," a simple "Volume Title" would solve this issue. Styles would have to adjust, but I wouldn't think that would make too many waves.
  • I propose that a "Series Abbr" item field should be added to the Book and Book Section item types to deal with this, just as the Journal Article item type has "Journal Abbr."
  • Why not add an item field for "Reviewed Book" or "Reviewed Title" to go with "Reviewed Author" in the Journal Article type. After all, book reviews are generally journal articles. Styles and translators would need to adjust, but it would add book re…
  • I can confirm that it isn't a Zotero 2.0 issue, having tried it with v. 1 as well. Aside from testing, is there anything one can do? I'm not sure I have time to learn the minimal JavaScript to help with coding, but perhaps in the future...
  • Doesn't work for me using Firefox 3.5.2 and Zotero 2.0b6.4. I am eager to adopt Zotero, but I want to make sure it works for the library I use in Illinois, which is running Voyager 7 and is part of the Illinois library consortium mentioned in the fi…
