Thanks for pointing out the guides that refer to the standerds items. Generally the best way to work out these sort of issues is for the users that need these sort of things for their field to abstract out exactly what they are missing. I should not…

As far as I know there is no converter. I would suggest trying to convert your BiblStruct file into one of the common interchange formats Zotero can injest, something like BibTex, or RIS, or MODS, but as this thread is the top google hit for the ter…

Those numbers are most likely not footnote numbers. There are many styles that only include numbers that reference the bibliography.

See: http://www.zotero.org/support/tips_and_tricks "To see all the collections an item is in, hold down the “Option” key on Macs or the “Control” key on Windows. This will highlight all collections that contain the selected record."

Could you provide links that don't work? This article just worked for me. http://biology.plosjournals.org/perlserv/?request=get-document&doi=10.1371/journal.pbio.1000093 You might also try removing &ct=1 from the end of the article URL.

There is some older documentation on using Zotero with a file syncing tool. It is not the recommended method for syncing, but some users still make use of it.
-
JonEP, take a look at Exporting PDFs on http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/importing_records_from_endnote With a careful find and replace statement you should be able to bring over your attachments.

Basic duplicate detection is available on the most recent development version and will be a part of the next beta version of Zotero 1.5.

I synced up my collection of at one point over 2k refs and it worked fine. Can you make sure your account info in the sync pane is right and then use the restore to server button.
-
Zotero's translations are managed through babelzilla if you want to help refine the German translation you should be able to contribute there.
-
Reinstalling Zotero will not affect your data, your data is stored in a separate spot from the program itself. The issue you are having with highlighting is probably an issue with the specific pages. Try grabbing a few different sort of pages, a wik…

Zotero generally does not scrape pages, it grabs RIS files that journals make available for tools like Zotero. Adding text transformation to other fields is probably a good idea.
-
As stated above in this thread basic duplicate detection is now included in the most current development versions. It will be part of the next beta release, but will not become part of old versions of the software.

I don't follow. What tabs are you talking about and what do you mean by RHS column?
-
Don't try to open the .sqlite files. Zotero will load up the file named zotero.sqlite when you start up firefox. To load up a .bak file just change the name of the current zotero.sqlite file to something else and remove .bak from the back up file.

You can use text transform titles by right clicking on them in the right pane, but the issue would be better resolved on Oxford's end than inside Zotero. Zotero is just grabbing the information Oxford has exposed and, for whatever reason, they want …

Read through the Zotero data page (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data) and see if it resolves your issue.

In my experience the Library of Congress catalog works best for book data.

This has come up before, and there is some general interest in seeing attachment images as a way to browse through items. the 16px icons next to items in the center column just wont work, they are just way to small to be of any use. One thought wo…

This is a known issue. See https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1174

This is probably a question better answered by your journal or publisher. If you want to have the abbreviation in the citations and the full name in the bibliography you would want to just use the abbreviation and then edit the bibliography. I don…

Create item from current page is not for library catalogs. It takes a snapshopt of the page and attaches it to webpage item. With library catalogs you want to use the icon in the location bar.
-
See Dan's comment in this thread. There is an intention to abstract the interface for some of this sort of functionality, it just has not been a top priority.
-
Take a look at the first image under "when Zotero senses items on a webpage" http://www.zotero.org/support/quick_start_guide
-
Why not just use the article icon in the location bar? That worked great for me.
-
Can you post a link to an article that fails?
-
You can search by creator (which includes author, director, editor, etc) in an advanced search. For duplicate detection I would recommend clicking on Creator at the top of the creator column in the middle pane to sort all the items in your library…

So Zotero is not showing up anywhere, not in the status bar, not in the tools menu, not on your list of installed extensions.

How did the report fail? You should be able to generate a report and then search through the contents of the report with Firefox's built in search function.

This is a known issue. The Aleph translator is broken for non-english sites.
