I haven't looked at Zotmoov and attanger on this, but at least with ZotFile, top-level attachments never moved. Do the new add-ons handle that differently?

Everything in the documentation refers to the desktop app unless otherwise specified. Metadata retrieval for PDFs doesn't exist for the web version

No. You search in whichever databases browser interface and use the browser connector to import.

That's only available for note styles (where you can choose between endnotes and footnotes). Try e.g. the Chicago full note style. APA creates in text citations, so the setting doesn't apply

Payment is only necessary for syncing files between devices. If Zotero doesn't run now, it won't run after payment either. You want to report the issue you are seeing in some detail to get help.
