Thanks fbennet. I've been wanting this feature forever and couldn't follow it from the previous threads. This is great!
-
Thanks Dan :) I'll wait until my current project is finished this weekend, and then do that.
-
Thanks again Dan. What about if I reset the webdav sync (ie - overwrote the webdav from my local Zotero), then did the new firefox profile thing, and downloaded everything from the webdav? (making backup copies just in case, of course). …

Would one way to fix this be to export my library (including files), create a new Firefox profile, and import my library? What data would I lose by doing this (folders? tags? notes?) Thanks, CB
-
Thanks, Dan, as always. The search you suggested produced 720 records, which seems about right for my 746 records (missing a few PDFs). However, I have >1400 folders! As for the multiple PDF issue, I've had zotero since an early version, a…

Thanks, but I'm not sure that that is the case here. I'm careful to keep Zotero set to not take snapshots, and I delete them whenever they do sometimes appear. All my articles have exactly 1 PDF in Zotero and no other files associated, except for …

Thanks Dan!

On its way to you.

Dan, It doesn't crash if I'm only syncing to Zotero server, but does crash when I file sync to my webdav server and do anything at all to my library (add tag, delete, rename attachment based on metadata). I checked the database integrity and …
-
Yes, it is in the middle pane. I was trying to delete a reference, and it was syncing to webdav. I'll turn off autosync and see if it comes back. Thanks :) CB
-
Just an update - hasn't crashed since I did that. Thanks for the help :)
-
Thanks Dan. You're right - I should have said "hang". I get the Mac spinning beachball, and when you click on firefox on the doc, it says "program not responding". If I let it sit for a while, eventually it "quits unexpectedly" and asks if I want…

Well, my particular dark theme didn't make Zotero dark, but my shiny new one did. I thought it was a Zotero thing, but it was a theme thing. Thank you as always Dan :) Don't you guys ever go home???
-
So it does! I missed that trick. However, it only seems to do that for the title field, not the author or the abstract.
-
Just an update - apparently our library added a lot of new IP addresses that weren't registering with the journals properly. They've fixed it.
-
Thanks Dan :) Speedy and helpful as always!
-
sean - I just sent the debugging log to support@zot....org. Can you get it there?

Also, Firefox 3.0.7 Zotero 1.5b2 Mac OS 10.5.6

Sorry - yes, that preference item is definitely on. Zotero used to always grab PDFs before the most recent update, but is currently not doing it.
-
I second this. The latest update of Zotero Sync won't grab the PDF from any site. Also, the "save link as Zotero snapshot" doesn't work either. It just grabs an empty file.
-
Thanks Dan (and Tjowens), Is there anything I can do to "encourage" links from my library's tool to have such endings? And, why does the stable link (above) work without those endings? Thanks :)
-
I have Zotero 1.5-sync3.8. Does the sync version have the updated proxy support?
-
I have to enter JSTOR from my library's website to get access (wisc.edu) via their "Find It" service (http://sfx.wisconsin.edu/wisc/cgi/core/citation-linker.cgi?rft.genre=journalor) , so that's where the link comes from. I think (almost) ever…
-
That did the trick. Thank you yet again!
-
I think I sent it after, because I couldn't get into the preferences after Zotero quit. I think this one record was corrupt. I tried "check database integrity" and it declared everything was fine. I finally deleted BOTH references, and now things…
-
Dan, you are terrific. That fixed it! Thank you so much! Is there somewhere I can send positive feedback to?
-
Thanks for the speedy reponse! I've got 387 items in my library - large, but not huge. Also, it has successfully synced many times in the past, and I'm only adding or changing a few references each day, so it really shouldn't be taxing the syn…

Thanks :) Lots of good info at your site, SimonCropper. And Mark, thanks too - I think they've fixed the search-for-PDF feature, because it works for me. I hadn't played with the advanced searches before.
