I do not understand what noksagt means with it is more "fragile".If you're syncing the database via dropbox, there is no conflict resolution. This is fine if you sync between the time you stop using Zotero on one machine and start to use it on a se…

Presently, there is no way to do that. FWIW: my solution to this is to have a collection for each article I write & to put articles in these collections as I cite them.

I'd love to see some way to export data to .CSV especially since this is one of the most recognized methods to transfer data from one program to another.See my reply to you in the other thread: while many programs transfer data using CSV/TSV, there …

Syncing is only available in the beta version 1.5b2

Then it should be locale dependent how these ranges are rendered in the output. In German, it is common to use ndash, maybe American guidelines prefer the mdash. If this is defined as a »term« in CSL, then citation styles could override the default …

In this case I'd need to export records from Zotero into tab-delimited or CSV files. The same arguments about lack of standards apply, though.this requires a little CSL manipulation. That would be the best way to support this feature, I think. Other …

That works for me. Try turning off the proxy features in zotero preferences. If that solves it, you can see if any proxies should be removed & turn back on proxy support.

Not really. Some are using dropbox to mirror their zotero directory on multiple machines. This does not take advantage of the special facilities for syncing in 1.5 (and is hence more "fragile"). Some others have at least talked about mounting dro…

The subtitle "(Condensed Matter and Materials Physics)" is not part of the journal name and makes no sense in references, publication lists etc. It obviously comes from the COinS entry "rft.title" - no idea why the AIP/APS people put it like that.A…

Thank you, but those discussions seem to be about something different from my problem.I agree they are not identical to your problem, but they do provide work-around (e.g. disabling the plugin & launching the PDF in acrobat). They also contain …

Do you really get the authors?Yes.A different translator than COinS?Yes; it uses the scitation translator (which, in turn, uses the RIS file for most references). There are COinS embedded on that page, but that translator should not take priority.A…

the same installation works OK viewing ordinary PDFs I follow links to on the web.Do "ordinary" PDFs open in a plugin in your browser or do they open in Acrobat externally? And have you tried anything recommended in: http://forums.zotero.org/discus…

The link you provided works for me. Refer to: http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues

I can't reproduce this in Word 2004 with the alpha plugin for 1.5b2 on OS X.5.2. I add a reference and generate a bibliography. If I click on the bibliography, the style in the formatting palette is 'Norma l+ Left: 0", Hanging: 0.27"'. If I cli…

You may want to double check. I don't author on the mac, but documents authored on Linux/Windows work fine on the Mac for me if I modify the "default" style. The plugin seems to have nothing to re-write the default style.

What do you mean that it "does not link to the zotero dialog?" Also note the known issue of password changes for WebDAV syncing: http://www.zotero.org/support/1.5_beta_known_issues

Passwords are saved in the Firefox password manager.

It looks like they use the same (or at least similar, depending on whether the case of the ":pdf" suffix matters to one or both programs) scheme as JabRef. Here is the ticket for this: https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1180

The specific issue first reported in this thread (escaping URLs) was fixed sometime ago (you'll note this thread is almost a year old).I do not understand what Dan S. meant -- the button just deleted some files I had to copy them from my backup. What…

There are already some duplicate detection functions in the trunk & it is being worked on more. Refer to this thread: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/42/duplicate-detection/

so when i import from google scholar using the button in the url field that looks like a page or a folder, zotero pulls the metadata but not the PDF file though it is clearly there. If the primary link is to a PDF, the PDF is downloaded. I assume yo…

Are you using 1.5b2 & are you syncing your data? If not, your library on the site will be empty.

You are correct that group functionality has not yet been released. If it's really the case, is there a solution to affect read-only function to particular users?Wait for group functionality or publish your library manually (an HTML export will have …

I thought all eRDF was imported as webpages? Work-around (pending site translator) would be to use the "Download to citation manager" link.

Similar to the Wiley thread: Works for me w/o a proxy; did you double-check that you have access to the PDF? Might still be a proxy issue, I haven't looked at that page closely.

I can't tell you why your last two files won't sync; hopefully one of the Zotero devs who views error reports will have insight. It may be useful to them to know if you had to do anything special to get those first 98 directories to sync, though.

Go to: http://www.zotero.org/tsawallis/17958/items and confirm that your metadata is syncing. Gear->sync and verify the WebDAV server again. Finally, follow instructions on bug reporting: http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs
