The documentation says to "enter the URL provided by the service"--what service? The WebDAV service. You must host or find your own service for syncing of attachments. Some suggestions are listed at http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/4559/ & i…

If you are contributing to this journal a lot and you submit them the contents of a bbl (rather than your BibTeX database), you might use custom-bib & generate your own .bst file that uses abbreviations. It is too much work for a single paper, …
-
This is an issue with most reference management software, as there is no standard way in BibTeX to store both full journal names & (multiple!) abbreviations used for them. You'd have to modify the BibTeX.js translator to export the abbreviated …

trac is an issue tracking system used by the developers. The ticket merely indicates that there is a need to address this issue & tracks progress on that front. There is nothing for you to do but wait.

I tried "Bitkinex" and the WebDAV server worked with idisk.me.com/username/Public AND /Documents)Did you have the "/zotero" appended to this? If not, you didn't try the same URL. Refer to http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/4138/

I imagine that it would work, but do not use NeoOffice (on the rare occasion I am on OS X, I use the X11 OO.o). Try it & see.

fields work across platforms in the same program. To work, they need to be in an odf file in OO.o and a doc file in Word. So, you obviously won't be able to use them in both Word and OO.o.

there was an incomprehensible error message in which the words "runtime error," "uno," and "python" figured prominently but this means nothing to me I'm afraidIt most likely means that you have to install PyUNO & make sure that it works. http://…

will I be able to open it and carry on where I left off in the Windows versions of these programsYes, if your Zotero databases are (more or less) the same. This requires using syncing in the 1.5 beta or to keep the sqlite files in 1.0 synced on mac…

is this feature working in 1.5b2.1? i.e. no dublicate linksNo, per Dan's comment, just two posts above: 1.5b2.1 contains no changes from 1.5b2.

I can only assume the Zotero file sync feature is not fully operational.Have you tried the exact same URL in another WebDAV client?
-
The CSL spec now allows this & a new CSL processor has been built which supports it, but I don't think the CSL processor currently in Zotero will support it. It is coming very soon, but you may have to find/replace for documents right now.
-
Are you sure you wish to do that? 001 is a control number & there's no reason to expect it to be a URL from other sources of MARC records.

fields that can't be edited can't be copied, so I can't use copy-paste within zotero to get the url and access date. This seems unrelated to the topic of the current thread. Both "accessed" and "URL" are editable (at least in v1.5). You can copy/pa…

@homunq: Why is "Create New Item from Current Page" inadequate? This fills in title, url, and access/added date & will create a snapshot for you. From what I can tell, it only misses:blog title (title of web page at blog root)...creation da…

Actually, note that I was mistaken. Firefox bookmarks do have an "import and backup" dropdown. Such an interface could potentially be a good way to restore the automatic zotero.sqlite backups. (I don't know, off hand, whether this would be trivial…

@swevrywhere: No need for duplicate posts.

I replied to your other comment. While this probably warranted a new thread, please do not make duplicate posts.

Have "Backup" and "Restore" buttons in the menuI'm neutral on this: enough people haven't read the documentation to know how to make backups, so it probably isn't a horrible idea. However, I trust automatic nightly backups much more than I trust my…

RDF export/import isn't suggested for transferring your library to another machine. Did you backup your zotero data directory prior to upgrading: http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data

It is a good idea to backup your zotero data directory anyway: http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data I'd encourage you to do that. Uninstalling firefox will not remove your profile directory by default, so your Firefox settings will be retained…

The 2 refers to stderr. Without the 2, only stdout is redirected to the file.

That is just the source code to the script. Perhaps you're not allowed to run php scripts on the server, or at least not from the directory you currently have the script in?

You aren't the first to be confused by that button. However, it is intended to work from every page (whether or not a specific translator exists for the site the page is on) & people might be surprised if it started to exhibit modal behavior (o…
