I remarked on classification in regards to those listed in CSL & maintain that it might make more sense to borrow from somebody else's list of subjects, rather than to create an ad hoc list that was over-specific for some fields & under-spec…

Patents are a little tricky: @patent is not one of the original BibTeX types, but it is becoming more common & I believe that it was recently added to JabRef. It is probably safe to add, but it might not work with all styles or programs that ca…

It seems like Zotero is a great way to go from references to notes, but I can't find a way to link together different notes without references.I could be wrong, but if Cara is happy with the way child notes are linked to references, perhaps using "r…

Do you have example URIs of and/or a specific recipe to find articles that do not get imported into Zotero?
-
Please don't repost: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/4682/

Not at this time. There is drop-down functionality in the beta & the options for this will probably be expanded. Presently, you need to put in an OpenURL resolver. The WorldCat resolver does do a fairly good job of finding libraries near you.…

it is indeed this behaviour that creates a messy enviroment, once you start to sort your items into collections, leaving duplicates around.Items can be in more than one collection & there is no need for duplicates. Being able to see all of your…

When selecting a page to be imported, is it possible to make it go into a specific collection? It should import into the collection that is selected.Moving items from Library to Collections or Collection to Collection copies but does not move items.L…

there might be a problem with the automatic backup. I read that normally "Zotero makes a backup copy within your data directory of your library if the last backup is more than 12 hours old" which should be named zotero.sqlite.new. I don't have that …

We'll add a screen scraping mode for private groups for 1.0 clients.I saw the zotero.org.js translator a while ago & meant to comment. Why do this, instead of using standards on the server-side? This isn't the long-term solution, right?
-
Yes; you'll see that I'm the one that elicited that remark from Thomson-Reuters ;-)
-
That shouldn't be a problem; it's a note style. Yes--you're right. It installs fine with an id for me in Zotero 2. Haven't tested it, though.
-
You also put everything into your citation block & have no bibliography block. That's almost certainly not what you intend to do (don't know if that is supposed to be valid or not; I guess I can see wanting only one of the two for weird edge ca…

rnv & validator.nu both validate it against the trunk version of csl.rnc, despite the empty id value. (To use validator.nu, you'd need to add the schema URL (which you might have done--it validates, but which many neglect to do))

mydisk.se isn't supporting zotero for their free users: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/5951/cant-sync-with-mydiskse-secure-webdav/#Comment_28474 Note that Zotero 2.0 actually improved WebDAV syncing, such that it may be acceptable to them (but…

If you save to doc, you must use bookmarks & not fields.
-
And how can you see / change the translater which it uses?It will often be stored in the "repository" field, but you should really look at the debug output.

LyX support is offered through the Lytero plugin (I haven't tested it in 2.0; it worked in 1.0 and 1.5). What BibTeX export improvements do you want?
-
Actually, while I wasn't looking, zotero 2.0 seems to have identified and jettisoned duplicatesHow did you arrive at that conclusion? I don't think there is any client side duplication detection or removal enabled (I could be wrong--I'm not a Zoter…
-
So, what about the 2.0 release? Does it have the dup detection functionality?Yes, but it needs to be enabled by a hidden about:config setting. The algorithm & features surrounding it will likely be improved before it is enabled by default.

You have this: The middle line tells it to print the title for all item types. Then, in your choose block, you use the title macro in all of your if item type blocks. You can probably remove it from all of the if blocks and be OK (and this seems …

Strange. That page uses the ScienceDirect translator for me, which just uses RIS (and it doesn't have HTML-encoded entities & I don't know why it would). When I save the page, it uses the CrossRef DOI translator & that also does not use HT…

What is the complaint? In the Author list I get output like "Höök"That is exactly what is written on the page & what the author's name is & what Zotero imports.
-
It may be looked as page number, but is not same as common page numbers. It is an article ID & it is treated in citations as if it were a page number. The AIP does the same thing. And Zotero can not capture it.It is absent from the RIS export. B…

FireFTP is an interesting counter-example to the discussion on this previously: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/4795/ I still don't know if the bloat of this solution would be worthwhile, though. (Most non-nix users don't have an ssh server &am…

Those have page numbers; The page number for: http://www.agu.org/journals/jd/jd0910/2008JD011239/ is D10301

There is no mechanism to import sqlite files. If you'd like to use the beta 2.0 sync version of the software, the libraries will be merged when both machines sync. If you import/export through Zotero RDF, there will be some data loss.

missing abstract, date with '00' in it, no pdf downloadFor the reference that you link to, the exported RIS has no abstract & the date (incorrectly) includes '00' in it. The defects are in what scitation exports, but perhaps Zotero should work …
