I have no Jabref installed. So I can't test this functionality of Freemind Scholar. This statement is not clear to me. This is the first mention of JabRef I see in this thread. The FreeMind Scholar page mentions JabRef, but it also mentions Zotero. …

You can also use keyboard shortcuts or click-and-drag. There is an optional plugin to enable a right-click menu in the editor that Zotero uses (TinyMCE). I don't know if it'd be worth adding or not.
-
You can copy/paste the same way you do between other apps (using keyboard or mouse shortcuts). Note that Word pastings in Zotero 2 do have junk right now, but this will be fixed: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/7215/pasting-from-word-on-a-note/…

Zotero and the cell.csl style do exactly this. Is the abbreviated name in your database wrong?
-
The forums URL parser break URLs containing parentheses. Here: http://www.cell.com/fulltext/S0092-8674(09)00523-6

The article I linked to was the first subscription-free article I found & it does not follow your second recommendation (it does follow the first).
-
Further: the second issue you raised is contrary to what appears in print, e.g.: http://www.cell.com/fulltext/S0092-8674(09)00523-6

Do you have any editorial instruction to do either of these? Neither rule is listed at: http://www.cell.com/authors

I'm curious though, what are the chances of a web based API to the collection stored in my profile as part of the synchronisation feature?Yes. Some nitty-gritty at: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/6966/ and in multiple other posts here & in…

Do you have other diskspace that students can use? 4 MB is minuscule & will not be enough for anything, really. Zotero allows you to have a customized data directory. If users have more space elsewhere, just use that. Depending on the scope …

It would probably be helpful to others to understand the details of our server set-up such that this is required, but unfortunately I don't know those details. You use windows file sharing (SMB) & must have not mapped that as a network drive with…

why is the default setting whenever I start a new document in OO "fields"? It seems to me that the default should be "bookmarks," and maybe the unusable "fields" option should be removed altogether, since I'm not sure of any use it has in OO besides…

I...wanted to make a donation to zotero. How would I go about doing this?Bumping an old thread so that cmpalmer & others might see Trevor's blog entry about CHNM donations. It is not clear to me how exactly such donations & matching funds w…

You don't give very many details on the referencing style or other requirements that you might have. Zotero does support ibid. (and op. cit.) through CSL.

And keyboard-junkies who can't wait can use vimperator: http://thorstenvitt.de/content/zotero-and-vimperator

If you're using 1.0, are not keeping backups, and are certain that your zotero.sqlite.bak file would not have these records, then you probably cannot recover from your accidental deletion. It'd be a good idea to implement a backup system to prevent…

This was imported from Google Books--not sure if that makes a difference. It should not. When I download the book from http://books.google.com/books?id=ROQyTN9MwswC and remove the URL & accessed date, the citation is appropriate with the stock v…

There is a trash folder in the Zotero 2.0 beta. There is no such mechanism in 1.0.

Thanks. O/T for this thread (re. ISI translator): Other fields in their export (FN,LA,DT,JI,SC, etc.) are also in mixed-case. Perhaps the recipe would be to test if both TI and AU are all caps and, if they are, apply the title-case or senetence-cas…

I can't replicate this. Can you report bugs and/or include any minimal and relevant debug output?
-
All-caps fields would also provoke issues in the output of many CSL styles. Garbage in leads to garbage out.The most elegant way to achieve this would be that zotero recognizes when a title/authors are in capital letters and then wouldn't use the d…

Here's what I get from a new manually entered book with that info:Sayer, R. A. (1995). Radical political economy. Wiley-Blackwell.Check to make sure your URL field is really empty. If my URL field has a period, I get:Sayer, R. A. (1995). Radical po…

FWIW: you can modify the CSL file by removing . But I don't think you should need to do this to fix your problem.
-
Please paste the full citation that it gives. It should obviously not have the text "retrieved from" when there is no URI to give to say where it is from.
-
For example, I created a new item from web page, http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/la8041082 .Why? There is an ACS translator, so you could have just clicked the icon in the address bar to use that. So, I clicked the button right next to the "Inde…

Have you tried restarting firefox? There are some known issues re. WebDAV credentials. When the zotero subdirectrory is created on your IIS server, are you able to write to it from other WebDAV programs using your same credentials? I believe it i…

Uncheck "Include URLs of paper articles in references" in the export tab of the Zotero preferences. Or delete the URL from your record.
-
AppData is a hidden directory. You may have to enable browsing hidden folders in your folder options. Otherwise: consult foldershare's support on this issue. Alternatively, you can change the location of your zotero directory.
-
That punctuation is probably part of the style that you've selected. The CSL file would need to be modified. http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/creating_citation_styles
