Here's one (of probably several) relevant thread: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/4423/suggestions-on-requesting-new-styles/
-
The developers have said a few times here that "it's likely that we'll be offering ways...for users of any browser to interact with their Zotero data via the Zotero server."
-
You might give a quick read through: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/5324/bibtex-and-greek-characters/#Item_13 and subsequent posts in that thread.

Translator fails for astrophysical journal, e.g.: http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/0004-637X/689/1/260/ http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/0004-637X/607/2/873Both have RIS files that have a blank 'A1' at the end of the author list. This causes the Zoter…

Could you maybe post a single record that identifies the problems, both in RIS and Refer? This would be useful. Please give as many of the following that you can too:EndNote versionDate of RIS/ISI translatorsthe name of the relevant fields within th…

I didn't intend to have any negative connotation when I said 'gripe' (which I just used to describe an understandable frustration that things weren't working perfectly).and the zotero developer community is probably fed up with it.I don't think this…

Do you have one of your zotero.sqlite*bak files that you can upload instead?
-
Both of these traits are in the RIS that is exported from IEEEXplore. All reference managers would get the same content. I don't know when we should ignore the metadata provided by the publishers. Right now, I see no good way to get a better jour…

Moreover, the journal abbreviation is not saved by ACS translator. The abbreviation is not stored in the RIS or other exported files from that site. Zotero could conceivably scrape it from eitherNano Lett.orNano Lett....., but I don't know how depen…

Let's review. You have enumerated three gripes about using RIS as an intermediate format:translators get added as notesedited books get typed as web pageseditors get cast as contributorsI've said that 2&3 can be improved by modifying the Zotero…

In the "local address" column, look for any line ending in ":50001". If you have such a line, look to the "process" of the corresponding row. This is the program that is using the port zotero uses.
-
You can run 'netstat' to see if that port is open. If it is, you can use fport (does not work with vista) TCPView to see what program has it open.

For me, 2.0b5 on Linux still suffers from: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/6981/opening-bibtex-file-instead-of-importing/

Are there any steps that can be taken to get around it?As I said, above: one step is to see where EndNote stores this data & to look into whether it would be possible to modify the RIS export in EndNote to improve it.Is the RIS format the only w…

It may be useful to refer to the RIS specification. Note that RIS is a flat, limited format & it all-but-impossible for it to represent the data in either EndNote or Zotero with complete fidelity. In zotero, I am getting multiple notes for such …

For your use case, you might consider making three collections for the project areas. Zotero will add the reference to the collection that is currently selected.

When you upgrade, your settings should be retained. When you open Zotero after an upgrade, you should therefore see your database. If you then customize the location of the Zotero data directory, Zotero will not move/copy your old files for yo…

The encoding is probably fine (Zotero-produced files are UTF-8 w/BOM by default). Can you import BibTeX files that Zotero exports? Can you give an example of the single record that failed?

Add metadata manuallyDrag attachment to new item

The RIS ID used in Zotero is an automatically-incremented local identifier. CSL does not support local identifiers & it is not clear why you'd ever cite this number. (Given ongoing discussion of URIs/identifiers, I don't know if I'd treat that…

You can drag-and-drop PDFs to the filesystem. You can also export to Zotero RDF with attachments.
-
@adamsmith: Do you type it in some way that you don't use the same UTF-8 character that is in the reference? What happens when you add an entry manually by typing in the character & then perform the search by typing the same character?
-
The zotero 2.0 beta supports rich-text notes, which should address your italics request. Any version should accept UTF-8 characters, see http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/843/diacritical-marks-in-notes/

Word X is not a supported word processor for any version of Zotero: http://www.zotero.org/support/which_version#word_processor_compatibility

Have I found a bug?No. You need read/write permissions for most files in the Zotero data directory for Zotero to function properly. You did not have such permissions, so Zotero did not work. You should avoid running firefox & most other userl…

I programmed my style to make it possible that printed media can also have a URL in case they are also available online...VERY odd: this still seems to work for books and chapters but not for articles in journals or newspapers ??You much check "Incl…

For example a date that was displayed as: "6. April 2009" is now displayed as: "6undefined April 2009"What locale do you use? Perhaps the ordinals are broken? If you don't want ordinals & do want the punctuation, replace:with:
