I don't think you should subvert the journal article type for this purpose. To me, that looks quite a bit like either a book or technical report in a series: it is not a regular serial. I'd use book, as each reference has a unique ISBN, etc. The …

Can you please provide the source you wish to cite & explain in more detail why it cannot be stored in Zotero and/or cited?

The books by BerlinerBoth of these are books in a series. I think that it would be more correct for the MODS XML to have instead ofbut I don't know what your EndNote XML data looked like or if bibutils can get this right. Zotero does the right thi…

I can't judge whether it was poor bibutils MODS output or Zotero import failureThe problem may also be with the Endnote XML: there are a ton of variants & many of them aren't even valid XML, so it is hard to read. In my experience:Bibutils outp…

I don't see how this particular error could really be caught & it is better to fix it anyway, as non-UTF-8 BibTeX is quite valid.

1. Please provide a link; it seems to work for the random images I have tried. It uses the 'realname' taken from the Flickr API 2-3 aren't yet grabbed, nor are they in the Flickr API response: http://www.flickr.com/services/api/flickr.photos.get…

I am also impatient that the sync server code has not yet been released. The devs have said this would not be supported, but it would still be nice to have. However,This has nothing to do with this thread (which is regarding storage syncing)It wil…

firefox does not have native support for either of those protocols. The storage FAQ notes that greater amounts of storage can be purchased on the zotero servers.

But the sqlite database is a binary file. How is that going to be merged?

Any reason you're not using the Word plugin? Can you drop into other apps? Can you ctrl-alt-c to copy?

pdf has both the legacy info key/value format & XMP metadata. Other reference managers, including JabRef, are able to set one or both of these formats & I thought I've seen this request for Zotero previously. Think it would have to be done…

I have used Zotero in combination with refbase. Many options work if you are using BibTeX & can share the key system with coauthors. But if you're using Word and/or OO.o, I'd strongly recommend using the new groups functionality in order to ma…

Some Endnote export issues cannot be fixed by end users because of inherit limitations in style customization (including the inability to split fields other than author or to run search/replace on field contents). @adamsmith: Endnote treats textual…

This thread is talking about the citation key, which is used to refer to an individual entry. A common key might be "Bennett-2009". I do not know what you mean by "AMS and other bibkey-based styles." Do you mean styles, such as the alpha BibTeX s…

Are you sure they backed "everything" up? There should be a zotero.sqlite file. The default data directory is in your firefox profile. See: http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data

Yes; and it is automatic, not "manual." So I don't understand the gripe about the work around.

Incidentally, PubMed does automatically link to PMCID papers, so in a pinch the PubMed ID gets you to the PMCID page.If-and-only-if that paper exists on PMC. Many papers with a PMID are not on PMC. Many are not allowed to be (per copyright).I thin…

Is using the recursiveCollections pref not an adequate work-around? http://www.zotero.org/support/hidden_prefs

This drifts off-topic, but I thought I'd respond to amacom73: If an article has a PMCID, it is open access & you know where to find it. Not every reference with a PMID is open access & being in PubMed does not help you locate an article. …

There's no reason the style could be written in a way to do this. You may be seeing this issue: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2890/bibliography-italics-problem/ which will occur for particular citations (not necessarily particular pages).

I doubt that MS uses the XML formats that are supported by Zotero. Can you export to other formats? Or use a plugin like: http://ragrawal.wordpress.com/2009/03/07/releasing-reference-manager-beta-for-word-2007/

There is no good way to handle this in Zotero yet, but there are numerous discussions on rich-text support, which is planned; e.g. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/3875

The issue with pages cannot be fixed: there is no additional information in CrossRef's database as to the page numbers for those resources. The date issue should be fixable. Thanks for mentioning it. For those with CrossRef accounts, you can modi…

At this time, you'd need to modify the source code for the BibTeX translator. Many people just post-process Zotero-generated BibTeX using another application. JabRef is pretty easy to use and good for automatic citekey generation and is on all pla…

In Zotero 2.0, if your pdf has searchable text: http://www.zotero.org/support/retrieve_pdf_metadata If your text is not searchable or you are using Zotero 1, you can either find a reference online to download or can add a reference manually & t…

There aren't yet fine-grained permissions on personal libraries. The easiest work-around is to create a group & store that one collection in the group.

"Harvard style" is used to refer to multiple author-date styles & there are a number of different CSL files for Zotero to write in some different variants. Many of the style files link to the guide that was followed to create them & you cou…
